There’s plenty of showboating going on. Always was a certain amount, but now more than ever.
Still, some serious questions are asked, and it’s a good thing for Americans to see the White House being questioned. It’s just that the silliness gets most of the play after each briefing.
Not sure what I think at this point, honestly. If the briefings were done off-camera, there would be a more serious exchange between the press secretary and reporters, and those asking questions just to be on TV will have less to do with the proceedings. No doubt there would be more follow up by individual reporters seeking serious answers, and Sarah Sanders would probably take the whole thing more seriously and give deeper and more thoughtful answers without moving around the room so quickly.
So I’m truly wondering, what do you think?
