House Votes to Condemn Everything Bad

Amazing. Democrats can’t condemn anti-Semitism. Because then you leave out everyone else!

Political correctness steals the truth and replaces it with meaningless bromides that make everyone feel comfortable.

According to the Washington Examiner:

The House on Thursday passed a resolution condemning most imaginable forms of hate speech and bigotry following an intense struggle among Democrats over how to condemn a string of anti-Semitic remarks from a lawmaker.

The watered-down resolution started as a way to respond to Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., who was accused of writing anti-Semitic tweets and publicly feuding with a Jewish Democrat, Rep. Nita Lowey of New York, on Twitter.

Omar was not named in the final version of the seven-page resolution, but Republican and Democratic lawmakers nonetheless called out her pattern of anti-Semitic tweets that have created a bipartisan furor on Capitol Hill and tortured Democrats as they struggled to find a way to respond.

The final version of the resolution still touted itself as a measure to condemn anti-Semitism. But in a sign of how Democrats struggled, the final text lists white supremacists who target “African Americans, Latinos, Native Americans, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and other people of color, Jews Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, the LGBTQ community, immigrants, and others with verbal attacks, incitement, and violence” before it gets into examples of anti-Semitism.

It passed easily in a 407-23 vote, and all the “no” votes came from Republicans. Many GOP lawmakers said they would oppose it because Democrats diluted its message against anti-Semitism.

Video || Mika Brzezinski Apologizes for Calling Pompeo Trump’s “Butt Boy”

I don’t know. Is this necessarily “homophobic”? I always thought the term was a little bit more like a “kiss ass” or just someone who follows someone else around closely or does everything they say.

In fact, until about ten years ago, the president’s aide-de-camp, who follows him everywhere, gives him the papers he needs, and whatever other small items he requires, was routinely referred to by the White House Press corps and the president’s “butt boy.”

Anyway, as you know, today, if you get out of bed, you’ve probably offended someone. So Mika had to apologize, and a liberal got a dose of political correctness blowback their normally dole out to others.

Kelly Sadler, Who Mocked McCain, is Out of the White House

Looks like the White House bowed to political correctness. The Trump White House.

It’s not 100 percent clear if this was part of the communications shop reorg that was planned or the result of her comments about Sen. John McCain dying. But it sure appears it was the latter. Particularly since she can’t possibly be responsible for the leak about her comment.

According to CNN:

Kelly Sadler, the White House communications aide who made an imprudent comment about Republican Sen. John McCain’s health, was quietly let go Tuesday nearly a month after making the insensitive remark.

“Kelly Sadler is no longer employed within the Executive Office of the President,” wrote Raj Shah, the principal deputy press secretary, in an emailed statement.

The White House had been strategizing an exit for Sadler for the last two weeks, a senior administration official said. There had been a discussion about relocating her to another agency or department outside of the White House, and it remains unclear if she is going somewhere else or leaving the administration entirely.

How Trump’s Rudeness Combats Political Correctness

From an article I have running today on the NBC News website:

Kelly Sadler, a White House communications aide, made a crack recently during an internal meeting about how Sen. John McCain’s opposition to President Donald Trump’s CIA pick, Gina Haspel, didn’t matter because McCain is “dying anyway.”

Once the remark was leaked, presumably by someone who doesn’t much like Sadler, the media — mainstream and social — exploded as if the stock market had crashed.

What a horrifying thing to say! Proof of the rottenness at the core of the Trump White House! Off with her head — that is, let’s get her fired and ruin her career!

Of course, it was not at all a nice thing to say. And yes, Trump says many, many not nice things. And it could be that his rudeness and crudeness trickles down to the staff.

But Trump’s directness has been a big part of his appeal, even to evangelicals and other “deplorables” accused of hypocrisy and obtuseness for backing a profane man. They were tired of being told what they are allowed to say and think. And nobody is going to tell Trump what to say.

There’s something refreshing about that. Even important. Because it gores a useful wound into the stultifying and dangerous political correctness that is increasingly gripping the nation.

Boston Area School Librarian Reject’s Melania’s Offer of Dr. Suess Books

In a sure sign that Western Civilization is nearing its end, an elementary school librarian in lefty Cambridge Massachusetts rejected a donation by First Lady Melania Trump of some Dr. Suess books, saying the volumes are “racist propaganda.”

From the Washington Post:

The first lady, who is increasingly carving out a public profile for herself, chose the classic children’s book and nine other Dr. Seuss titles to send to an elementary school in Cambridge, Mass., in celebration of “National Read a Book Day.”

But a librarian at Cambridgeport School refused to accept the gift, criticizing Trump administration education policies and images in the books.

Seuss’s illustrations are “steeped in racist propaganda, caricatures, and harmful stereotypes,” librarian Liz Phipps Soeiro wrote in a letter to Trump on Tuesday.

The librarian wrote that rather than sending books to a well-funded elementary school in Cambridge, Trump should instead be devoting resources to schools in “underfunded and underprivileged communities” that are “marginalized and maligned by policies put in place by Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos.”

It’s deeply ironic that the impish rebelliousness that Dr. Suess weaved into his books is too much for the doctrinaire left, which lacks any sense of humor about its various pious certainties. They are the goldfish in Dr. Suess’s Cat in the Hat, warning against any mischievousness and disobeying parents. The Left used to stand for questioning authority.

Today, the subversives in society are the conservatives, who are trying to undermine political correctness and restore reason and traditional American values which, yes, include a little rebelliousness. I seem to remember – not personally, but through reading – that a rebellion is what founded this country.

As you can see from the video below, many of the parents seem to agree – with the librarian.

Video || Political Correctness from Birth

Political correctness is learned early these days, of course. School kids must be taught that “trigger statements,” “bullying” – i.e. anything that might possibly be upsetting to another kid – and any reference at all to the Confederacy, global cooling or any lack of global warming, the existence of differences between races or genders, the possibility that mankind has ever done anything good to the earth, Rush Limbaugh and other hateful people, negative comments about Michelle Obama’s lunch recipes, and of course anything having to do with a weapon or explosive, is forbidden.

Remy of ReasonTV has a pretty funny take on this.
