Okay, the video President Trump tweeted of Nancy Pelosi was heavily edited.
But it still presents things she said and did – you know, saying “three” and holding up two fingers.
And how on earth is it “sexist”? So if you mock a woman, it’s by definition sexist. I think that women can handle themselves and don’t need the protection of a false label.
Especially the woman who is second-in-line to the presidency. Is mocking her sexist? Should we just not bother her, even though she’s extraordinarily powerful?
Here’s Hillary, using fully loaded terms to try to get some attention. She’s so disingenuous and pathetic.
But don’t count her out. I had a dream the other night — yes, us pathetic political types dream about such things — that the 2020 Democratic convention was deadlocked and she suddenly swept in and got the nomination.
It could happen. I’m sure it’s what she’s angling for.
Here she is. Oh, that annoying voice. Sorry to do this to you.
Here’s the “sexist” video Trump tweeted.
If trump said “three” and held up two fingers, they’d be invoking the 25th Amendment.
White House counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway slammed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Thursday morning, claiming Pelosi treats her like she might treat the help.
“I believe she’s the sixth, or so, richest member of Congress, and she behaves that way,” Conway told reporters gathered on the White House driveway. “She treats me as she might treat her maid or her pilots or her makeup artists or her wardrobe consultants.”
President Trump dragged Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi down Pennsylvania Avenue for what was supposed to be an infrastructure meeting. Then he threw them out and held a press conference in the Rose Garden about how they are unjustly investigating him, and he’s not doing any infrastructure until they cut it out.
A brilliant PR stunt by the master.
According to the Washington Examiner:
President Trump canceled a scheduled meeting on infrastructure with Democrats on Wednesday, saying he was upset about claims he engaged in a coverup and Democrats’ use of “the I word” — meaning impeachment.
“Instead of walking in happily into a meeting, I walk in to look at people that have just said that I was doing a cover-up. I don’t do cover-ups,” Trump said, speaking in the Rose Garden about 25 minutes after the scheduled start of the meeting with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.
Trump said he was particularly upset about Pelosi suggesting he engaged in a coverup during special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.
“I walked into the room and I told Sen. Schumer, Speaker Pelosi, ‘I want to do infrastructure. I want to do it more than you want to do it. I would be really good at that. That’s what I do. But you know what? You can’t do it under these circumstances. So get these phony investigations over with,'” Trump said.
Attorney General William Barr was cited for contempt by the House Judiciary Committee last week for failing to deliver a document he is not only not required to provide, but legally prevented from handing out.
Even though he had to release nothing, Barr gave Congress almost all of the Mueller report. He withheld small portions of tit that included grand jury testimony, which he is not supposed to release.
Barr asked Speaker Nancy Pelosi whether she planned to arrest him when he appeared on the west front of the Capitol to commemorate the National Peace Officers Memorial service on Wednesday.
Barr, who was on a platform with congressional leaders as they awaited President Trump’s arrival, approached Speaker Pelosi and shook her hand, a bystander said. Apparently joking, he said loudly: “Madam Speaker, did you bring your handcuffs?”
The bystander said: “The speaker, not missing a beat, smiled and indicated to the attorney general that the House sergeant at arms was present at the ceremony should an arrest be necessary. The attorney general chuckled and walked away.”
House Democrats aren’t giving up on attempting to impeach President Trump, even though Speaker Nancy Pelosi all but dismissed it in an interview published Monday.
“I happen to disagree with that take,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, D-N.Y., told the Washington Examiner Monday night, responding to the Pelosi interview. “But you know, she’s the speaker. … I think we’ll see.”
Pelosi told the Washington Post she doesn’t support the House trying to impeach Trump. “He’s just not worth it,” the California Democrat said in the interview.
Pelosi’s comments contradict the views of many House Democrats who are eager to pursue a path to impeachment, either from the findings of special counsel Robert Mueller’s ongoing probe or new, broad House investigations that will examine Trump’s business dealings and potential conflicts of interest.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday she could support a border security deal that adds new Normandy fencing along about 30 miles of open border.
But she won’t bring a bill to the floor that includes Trump’s vision for a wall or steel-slat barrier, she said.
Pelosi said she’d back Normandy fencing used to finish approximately 700 miles authorized by the 2006 Secure Fence Act. A 2017 government report determined about 50 miles of that authorized fencing are incomplete, although Republicans have put forward higher estimates. Pelosi said only 30 miles are incomplete.
Normandy fencing includes movable barriers that allow vehicles to pass through and the barriers are low enough to climb over. Pelosi said that’s as far as she’ll go on a barrier.
“If the president wants to call that a wall, he can call it a wall,” Pelosi said. “Are there places where enhanced fencing, Normandy fencing, will work? Let them have that discussion.”
A friend of mine made this point, so I can’t claim it for my own. But it’s a great one.
Sure, Trump canceled Nancy Pelosi’s trip to Europe and the Middle East in retaliation for her suggestion he not give the State of the Union address. The press, of course, is characterizing all this as petty and childish. They didn’t so much when Pelosi made her move, but now that Trump has responded, that’s the theme.
But actually, this is why Trump was elected. Washington politicians are petty and demeaning to each other all the time. It’s just, they couch it in nice words and try to pretend they are helping the country instead of themselves.
Trump, despite all the lies he tells, is in a sense much more honest. He doesn’t try to hide what he thinks or what he is doing. He was elected to plow through all the Washington BS and represent regular guys and gals because he is, despite his wealth and other attributes, a regular guy.
Politicians stab each other in the back. Trump stabs you in the front and talks to you about it while your bleeding. Which brings me to another point.
Trump’s rule of thumb is that if someone hits you, you hit them back three times as hard. By publicly humilating Pelosi in this way, not to mention screwing up all her plans, he lets her and others know taht he is not to be messed with.
President Trump Thursday abruptly canceled a trip by Nancy Pelosi and other lawmakers to Brussels, Egypt and Afghanistan.
According to reports, the delegation was to leave at 3:00 pm Thursday. The cancellation letter was released by the White House just after 2:00 pm. The White House says Pelosi & Co. are free to travel commercial, but will not have access to military jets the would take on the trip.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Wednesday said President Trump should consider scheduling the State of the Union address after the shutdown is over or send it in writing, citing security concerns. I’d say the main thing going on here, beside a gratuitous insult, is that Pelosi wants to deny Trump the biggest soapbox of the year… Continue Reading
According to the Washington Examiner: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday didn’t rule out the possibility of broad immigration reform deal to end an impasse between Democrats and President Trump over border wall funding. When asked if she’s open to exchanging border wall funding for a deal to legalize Dreamers, those younger immigrants who came… Continue Reading
Democrats are now refusing to even talk. They say the White House numbers keep changing. The White House says Pelosi is trying to keep her base happy and get elected speaker. From a piece I did for the Washington Examiner. Efforts to resolve a government shutdown fight have been at a standstill since Saturday, when… Continue Reading
Al Sharpton, our savior. We all know the Lord works in mysterious ways. But if Al Sharpton saved America, then the Lord works in completely inscrutable ways. Anyway, we can be pretty sure this is not true, because Pelosi peppered her remarks with several other obvious lies. “We’re going to be visionary, we’re going to… Continue Reading
