As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Pelosi Joins the “Everything is Racist” Bandwagon

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, fighting for her current job and to be Speaker if Democrats take the House, knows she needs to appease the left-wing lunatics taking over the Democratic Party, and so she’s decided to start speaking their language.

During an interview Sunday on MSNBC, she said:

Let me remind you that when the Republicans took power when President Obama was president of the United States, what Mitch McConnell said is, ‘The most important thing we can do is to make sure he does not succeed.’ If that wasn’t a racist statement. That is unthinkable.

Pelosi is not genius, but she’s not dumb either. She gets that merely criticizing Barack Obama isn’t by definition racist. And she probably – although maybe not – understands the terrible road we’re going down when every criticism of a black person is described as racist, and people take the description seriously.

Of course, it’s disastrous for the cause of free speech. But it’s particularly bad for African Americans, because they can become excluded from the normal give and take of debate when attacking them becomes something racist. The last thing, as a Jew, I would want is for someone who criticized me to be accused of anti-Semiticism – assuming they didn’t preface it with, “Hey Jewboy, listen to this” – because then they would be afraid to debate me and wouldn’t engage me honestly. I would learn nothing from them, and I would not be able to have a serious discussion.

The Washington Post “Fact Checker,” which is sometimes less partisan than the rest of the Post’s newsroom, gave Pelosi’s comment the maximum “Four Pinnochio’s,” meaning they consider it an outright lie.

Well, there will be many more such lies to come. Politico notes that the Democratic 2020 presidential crowd is trying to one-up each other with race baiting:

Some of the party’s top potential 2020 candidates are testing a barrage of early — and unusually explicit — race-related appeals in the run-up to the next presidential campaign. Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) pledged not to be “shut up” by critics of “identity politics.” Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), has drawn attention to the disproportionate number of nonwhite people incarcerated in a system he said has “criminalized poverty.”

Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) invoked Martin Luther King Jr. when he called unemployment a “form of brutality.” And while Booker described inequities in the criminal justice system as “the biggest cancer on the soul of this country,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) called the system “racist … front to back.”

Of course, Politico doesn’t call it “race-baiting.” Unlike the Post, which sticks to the facts of the case, it describes the Democrats as simply responding to President Trump whom, the Post suggests through others it quotes, is the actual race-baiter. Politico’s “reporting” that there is a justification to the barrage of racial antagonism about to be sowed by the Democrats for votes over the next two years is a disservice to society.

Pelosi’s Email Bait and Switch: Says She’s Not Asking for Cash — Then Asks for Cash

Maybe next we’ll find her outside the Capitol playing Three-card Monte with passersby.

I can’t for the life of me understand how this does not qualify as a genuine, vintage, unabashed scam. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi keeps sending out emails with a subject line saying she’s not trying to pick your pocket. But the email includes a link that leads you to a page that demands money.

Ostensibly, she just wants your opinion. It’s a poll, see?

For the purposes of gathering news, I’m on various Democratic email lists. Pelosi is sending me missives from the House Democrats’ fundraising arm, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee – now that’s your first hint she actually wants money – asking me to complete a poll.

On June 22, I got an email titled, “NOT asking for money.”

Now that sounds pretty clear to me. After some political gibberish, she gets to the point with a line at the end of the email: “Please, before midnight — will you complete your survey? Your voice is more important than you know.”

If you click on the link, you find that Ms. Pelosi is indeed conducting a survey, of Democrats, including such scientifically derived questions as, “Do you oppose the Republican Party’s heartless budget?” and “Did you know that the Republican budget includes $4 BILLION in cuts to Social Security?” The choices for answering the latter question are, “Yes, it’s awful” and “No, but I do now.”

Scroll to the end of the short poll, and you find what is obviously the question she most sincerely wants an answer to: “Will you pitch in $3 (or more!) to support the DCCC in its mission to help Democrats take back the House?”

You’re given five choices with different amounts, including your own. Surprisingly enough, each response starts with “Yes!”

Nancy, I thought you weren’t asking for money?

On June 24 she was back with an email titled, “need input NOT money” noting, “My new budget survey is the most critical I’ve sent to you all year — but my records show you haven’t responded to me yet.”

My bad.

Again, there’s a link to a survey that ends with a cash grab. And most recently, on July 11, the same subject line, this time corrected with a comma, ‘need input, NOT money.” Same deal on the survey.

Hey kid, ya got any money for me?

I gather the attorneys could claim that she is merely seeking your opinion about whether you want to contribute, not asking you to!

But in places where people try to be honest, this is what is called bait and switch.

And Democrats accuse President Trump of running a con . . .

Chuck Schumer’s Cowardly “Repudiation” of Maxine Waters

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer Monday issues a feckless repudiation of Maxine Waters, failing to even name her and saying President Trump does the exact same thing as she did.

“No one should call for the harassment of political opponents. That’s not right, and that’s not American,” Schumer said, without pointing the finger directly at the offender.

Waters has called for people to harangue Trump officials wherever they find them.

Meantime, Schumer said President Trump was doing basically the same thing as Waters and said it was understandable that people would want to do what Waters did. “The president’s tactics and behavior should never be emulated,” he said.

If something is wrong, it’s just wrong. It’s hardly a criticism to say someone did something bad and then add, the Devil made them do it.

Nancy Pelosi, to her credit, singled Waters out. I assume it’s because she has to deal with her directly and is as tired of her as anyone else.

The media and Democrats are busy blaming Trump and the “tone” he has set for the actions of liberals, for the harassment of Trump officials. The left, though, is perfectly capable of setting this tone all by itself. How about the tone set by Barack Obama and Joe Biden, who repeatedly suggested conservatives were un-American. How many times did Obama repeat, “That’s not who we are.”

Sure, he’s more subtle than Trump. But his comments were filled with contempt. Where were all the articles in the media back then about the climate of hate on the left?

But no, I don’t blame the vitriol of Obama, Joe Biden, or Bernie Sanders for the shooting just a year ago by a leftist of several Republicans while they practiced for the annual congressional softball game.

For a stroll down memory lane, here’s Biden during the 2012 campaign quipping the Republicans want to re-enslave African Americans.

Video || Nancy Pelosi Calls for “Uprisings” Over Trump Immigration Policy

Pelosi spoke at her regular press briefing:

They’re doing away with children being with their moms. I just don’t even know why there aren’t uprising all over the country, and maybe there will be when people realize that this is a policy that they defend.

That’s the House minority leader, basically calling for uprisings. About the extension of an Obama-era policy.

According to Newsweek, Obama held more than double the number of children as Trump:

The number of undocumented children being held without their parents in U.S. government custody has seen a 21 percent increase in the past month after the Trump administration announced its “zero tolerance” crackdown on families caught crossing the border illegally, it has emerged.

Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Administration for Children and Families spokesperson Kenneth Wolfe told Newsweek on Wednesday that it had as many as 10,852 undocumented children in its custody—a significant jump from the 8,886 that were in the agency’s custody on April 29, according to the Washington Post. spokesman for HHS’s Administration for Children and Families told

In fiscal year 2013, under the Barack Obama administration, the HHS Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) had as many as 25,000 unaccompanied children in its care across 80 shelters, according to a July 2014 article in Mother Jones.

Where were the protests?

Trump Talks “MS-13 Lover” Pelosi and “Filthy” Language Hillary-Backer Jay-Z

President Trump Tuesday was as colorful as usual speaking at a MAGA rally in Nashville.

Also, Mexico is still paying for the wall “And they’re going to enjoy it.” Au contraire! tweeted Mexico’s president.

Here is Nancy Pelosi objecting to President Trump’s “animals” remark, which she surely understood was a reference to MS-13, not all immigrants. She argues for the “the spark of Divinity” in MS-13 members. More like the flash of Satan, but whatever.

As Pelosi Drones on About Dreamers, Rep. Matsui Begins Her Own Dream

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi put a member of her caucus to sleep today on the House floor reading what we White House reporrers used to call “sob stories” – actual examples of people affected by a policy – involving Dreamers.

Rep. Doris Matsui of California was either stupified into unconsciousness by Pelosi’s remarks or was seeking to make a dramatic point about dreaming. You decide.

She passes out of a state of wakefulness at 0:04 – 0:19 and then again at 1:35 – 2:15

Trump Tears Into Pelosi and Schumer for Meeting-Skipping Stunt

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi today refused an invitation to meet with the president of the United States at the White House, a slight I have not witnessed in 20 years working at the White House and one that borders, given their positions in government, on the unpatriotic. Schumer… Continue Reading

Pelosi Shouted Down by Immigrants Protesting Her Talks with Trump

Nice to see the Left getting a taste of the Left. From the Associated Press: U.S. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has been shouted down at a San Francisco event by young immigrants protesting her conversations with President Donald Trump on immigration policy. The Democratic leader was barely able to speak over the chorus of… Continue Reading

Donald and Chuck and Nancy and Paul and Mitch

Here’s part of the problem for Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell. Trump just likes Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi better. And that’s a problem for all of us. One of the reasons I think he turned to the Democratic leaders, beyond sending a message to Republicans that they need to get in line because he… Continue Reading
