Trump to Remove National Security Aide at Melania’s Request

Sounds like Mira Ricardel, one of National Security Advisor John Bolton’s most trusted aides, rubbed the first lady the wrong way.

According to the Wall Street Journal:

Mr. Trump has already decided to remove Ms. Ricardel, the top deputy for national security adviser John Bolton, officials said on Tuesday.

A rift emerged after Mrs. Trump staff’s battled with Ms. Ricardel during the first lady’s trip to Africa last month over seating on the plane and requests to use National Security Council resources, according to people familiar with the matter. The first lady’s team also told Mr. Trump that they suspect Ms. Ricardel is behind some negative stories about Mrs. Trump and her staff.

The first lady’s office issued a statement on Tuesday calling for Ms. Ricardel to be dismissed. “It is the position of the Office of the First Lady that she no longer deserves the honor of serving in this White House,” said Stephanie Grisham, a spokeswoman for Mrs. Trump.

The first lady firing national security aides? That’s a new one.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen is also out, just as I learned to spell her name. Her top ally, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, may follow.

Mr. Trump is also leaning toward the ouster of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, who is a close ally of Mr. Kelly, White House officials said. The president has decided to replace Ms. Nielsen, but hasn’t finalized the timing, White House officials said, in part because there isn’t an obvious candidate to replace her.

Mr. Trump has told aides that he is aware that forcing out Ms. Nielsen may result in Mr. Kelly quitting, administration officials said. Mr. Trump has told these aides that he is resigned to the possibility of Mr. Kelly leaving, and that he probably will replace Mr. Kelly with Nick Ayers, who is currently chief of staff to Vice President Mike Pence.

DHS Secretary Nielsen: Middle Easterners are in the Caravans

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen Monday backed up claims by President Trump that Middle Easterners are in the caravans headed toward the United States from Central America.

We absolutely see people from the Middle East, from southeast Asia, from other parts of the world — these are not just from Central America.

She indicated the presence of Middle Easterners would not be surprising.

What I can tell you is we stopped 3,000 people last year at the southwest border who had patterns of travel similar to a terrorist. We call them special interest aliens.

Trump was criticized for making the statement without “proof,” and Trump at one point acknowledged that while there was information suggesting the presence of Middle Easterners, he didn’t have proof. Nielsen is suggesting such proof does indeed exist.

Nielsen also said the caravans are funded by . . . somebody. That, as conservative suspected, they’re not simply arising out of nowhere.

With respect to the timing and the particular organization of the caravans, they’re not organic, if uou will, they’re definitely organized, they’re financed.

She added that new caravans coming up behind the lead one are “mostly single males.”

Kirstjen Nielsen Under Siege

There is no disagreeing with the Left anymore. Now you’re either Mother Theresa or Hitler.

After preventing Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen from peacefully downing a chimichanga or two at a Washington Mexican restaurant, leftist protestors now want to stop her from sleeping too.

Protestors Friday morning woke her up to the tune of crying babies.

And her former high school classmates are after her too. According to the Washington Post:

Hundreds of alumni from the high school that Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen attended in Florida have penned a letter expressing outrage about the harsh immigration policies instituted in part by Nielsen that have resulted in the separation of thousands of children from their parents, and asking school officials to condemn them.

The digital letter was drafted Monday after a group of alumni of Berkeley Preparatory School in Tampa said they were distressed by Nielsen’s vigorous defense during a combative news conference Monday of the separations of migrant families crossing illegally into the United States from Mexico. The separations were a result of the Trump administration’s new hard-line immigration policies, which are implemented in large part by the Department of Homeland Security.

“After the press conference we were like, ‘Oh my god, this is real and who is this woman and what is she doing in regards to everything we were taught?’ ” said Emily Dolgin, a senior at Barnard College and a 2015 graduate of the high school.

How about instead of signing letters each of you foster one of these children?

First of all, it might have been a good night to go for Thai food. I’m just saying.

Second of all, whatever happened to BOUNCERS?

Sen. Cory Booker Says DHS Secretary Nielsen Acted Like a Nazi

New Jersey Democratic Sen. Cory Booker compared Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen to a Nazi, saying she lied to protect Donald Trump and in doing so was like Nazis who defended themselves by claiming they were just doing their jobs.

Booker made the accusation during an appearance this week on “The Breakfast Club,” a syndicated radio show. He said Nielsen was lying during Senate testimony earlier in the week about not remembering that Donald Trump during a White House meeting with senators had called Haiti, El Salvador, and African Nations “shithole” countries, and that she saw lying to defend Trump as part of her job.

Booker said:

If you come after Jews, if you come after Muslims, if you come after Haitians, El Salvadorans, if you come after my fellow American citizens, I will not tolerate it, and she should have been in the same way, as opposed to just doing her job. Well, we know what happened in Europe when people just did their job.

Booker Tuesday angrily lectured Nielsen during her appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee, saying Trump’s alleged epithet had caused him to emit “tears of rage.”
