In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany: I Anwer to God, Not My Critics

From an interview with CBN’s David Brody:

David Brody: “You’ve been called a lot of names out there. I mean, they’re already saying, ‘I will not lie,’ and they’re calling you a liar already. They’re calling you other names, racist and birther and all of that stuff. What’s your response to the critics that say all that stuff about you?”

Kayleigh McEnany: “That I know the person I am and I know what I stand for. And I stand as a Christian woman, someone who believes in equality and truth, and loyalty and honesty, and it’s the values I’ve lived by my whole life. It’s the values I’ll continue to live by and people will malign you, it comes with the job. But I know who I’m ultimately working for. And it’s the big guy upstairs and my mission in life is that when I pass that He will look at me and say, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.’ And if I can end my life that way, it doesn’t matter what the people say on the way there.”

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany Promises Never to Lie to the Press

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany renewed the traditional White House briefing Friday with a promise to stick to the truth

“I will never lie to you,” McEnany said. “You have my word on that.”

Well, it does occur to me that a phrase like “I am not a liar” has no meaning. Because if you are a liar, then you are lying. So how can anyone tell?

And I’m not sure how much it matters when it comes to press secretaries. By the usual ground rules, they are not permitted technically to lie, but they can obscure, mislead, and dodge questions.

That said, McEnany seems sincere.

White House Briefings with the Press Secretary Return Today

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnancy will hold a regular White House briefing today at 2:00 pm ET.

It’s the first regular briefing by a press secretary since the last one by Sarah Sanders more than a year ago. Sanders successor Stephanie Grisham never held a briefing.

White House Dossier will live stream McEnany’s appearance.

Stephanie Grisham Replaced as White House Press Secretary by Kayleigh McEnany

President Trump is moving campaign spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany over to become White House press secretary, replacing Stepanie Grisham, who will return to working for First Lady Melania Trump, this time as her chief of staff.

According to Politico:

White House officials had grown frustrated with the job of the communications team, especially during coronavirus, and press responsibilities for the pandemic crisis were handed over to the vice president’s office. Jared Kushner, Trump’s senior adviser and son-in-law, has also complained in recent months that the communications shop under Grisham was not aggressive — that it only reacted instead of taking a proactive approach, according to two people close to the White House.

Grisham made the mistake of going into quarantine after hanging out with Brazilian officials who met with Trump and his aides and then tested positive for the coronavirus. So it appears she missed certain machinations by hostile parties with the palace.

She was definitely surprised by the move, complaining last week of being informed by the press that her job was in jeopardy.

Anyway, this is the actual White House press secretary.
