On Hannity last night, Vice President said that Joy Behar had apologized to him privately for demeaning his Christian faith but added that she should do so publicly too.
So today, she did:
“I think Vice President Pence is right. I was raised to respect everyone’s religious faith, and I fell short of that. I sincerely apologize for what I said.”
That’s what I would call a proper apology. Not a typical Washington or celebrity apology, which starts something like “If anyone was offended by what I said . . . ”
This apology was direct. And probably sincere, although the issue was getting very bad for her and she certainly had plenty of professional incentive to reel this one back in.
Here’s what she originally said, at about the 3:05 mark.
