WSJ: Trump Repeatedly Urged Ukraine to Probe Biden but Offered No Quid-Pro-Quo

All the speculation that President Trump offered military aid to the Ukrainians to investigate Joe Biden, down the drain.

But asking foreign governments to investigate your political opponents is egregious. Not sure if it’s illegal, but it is the wrong thing to do.

According to the Wall Street Journal:

President Trump in a July phone call repeatedly pressured the president of Ukraine to investigate Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden ’s son, urging Volodymyr Zelensky about eight times to work with Rudy Giuliani, his personal lawyer, on a probe, according to people familiar with the matter.

“He told him that he should work with [Mr. Giuliani] on Biden, and that people in Washington wanted to know” whether allegations were true or not, one of the people said. Mr. Trump didn’t mention a provision of foreign aid to Ukraine on the call, said this person, who didn’t believe Mr. Trump offered the Ukrainian president any quid-pro-quo for his cooperation on any investigation.

Mr. Giuliani in June and August met with top Ukrainian officials about the prospect of an investigation, he said in an interview. The Trump lawyer has suggested Mr. Biden as vice president worked to shield from investigation a Ukrainian gas company with ties to his son, Hunter Biden. A Ukrainian official earlier this year said he had no evidence of wrongdoing by Mr. Biden or his son

Biden Had a Facelift Since Leaving Office – and Not a Good One

Viewers warning: Photos include possible beard growing on Biden’s ear, where his skin was pull back to.

It’s pretty clear Joe Biden is not going to make his plastic surgeon the surgeon general. The guy probably has a background as a butcher.

According to the Washington Examiner:

The scars on the sides of Democratic front-runner Joe Biden’s face are the result of a facelift carried out before he launched his 2020 presidential campaign, according to leading cosmetic surgeons.

Up close, large vertical scars beginning at the top of the outside of his ear canal to roughly a half inch below the lobe can be seen on both sides of the former vice president’s face. Separate horizontal scars stretch from behind his ear to his upper neck.

Those scars, according to cosmetic surgeons who reviewed photographs of Biden, are the consequence of a rhytidectomy — more commonly referred to as a facelift. In the procedure, the surgeons said, incisions were made next to Biden’s ears and behind his skull, removing excess skin and creating a tightened complexion.

“Oh he’s had a facelift, there’s no question,” said leading New York-based cosmetic surgeon Dr. Arthur Perry, who is also an associate adjunct professor at Columbia Medical School.

He described the size of Biden’s incisions as “incredible” and “fairly recent.” He said: “The scars come too far from his ear. This is very hard to correct.”

Biden Lies About Support for Iraq War

Joe Biden claims he wasn’t for the Iraq War before he was against it, to paraphrase John Kerry.

But in fact, he was. Yet what he actually did was support the war before turning against it when the going got rough.

According to the Washington Examiner:

Joe Biden has given a false account of when he turned against the Iraq War and cited details of a conversation with George W. Bush in 2003 that the former president’s aides and his current spokesman dismiss as wholly untrue.

Biden, the 2020 front-runner, said in the second Democratic presidential debate: “From the moment ‘shock and awe’ started, I was opposed to the effort and outspoken as much as anyone at all in the Congress and administration.”

He amplified the claim this week, adding vivid detail about what he claims Bush told him beforehand.

“He looked me in the eye in the Oval Office,” he told NPR this week, referring to 2002, when he was Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman. “He said he needed the vote to be able to get inspectors into Iraq to determine whether or not Saddam Hussein was engaged in dealing with a nuclear program. He got them in and before you know it, we had ‘shock and awe.’ Immediately, that moment it started, I came out against the war at that moment.”

A spokesman for Bush says Biden’s memory of his White House meetings was “flat wrong.”

But Biden continued to publicly back military action in Iraq for many months after the March 2003, U.S.-led invasion. In a July 2003 Senate floor speech, Biden, by ranking member on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, stood squarely behind the invasion.

“I personally think this job is doable, or I wouldn’t have voted for us going into Iraq in the first place. I think it is doable,” Biden . “And I voted to go into Iraq and I’d vote to do it again.”

Biden: “Details Are Irrelevant In Terms Of Decision Making”

This was said in response to him conflating about five stories in trying to relate a tale about a medal he gave a service member.

Imagine if President Trump had said such a thing.

“That has nothing to do with judgment of whether or not you send troops to war, the judgment of whether you bring someone home, the judgment of whether you decide on a health-care policy,” Biden told the NPR Politics Podcast and Iowa Public Radio

“It’s like saying, ‘I had this very bright reporter, and I think her eyes were blue,’” he said. “What difference would it make about whether you were a bright reporter? Your eyes are brown. It’s irrelevant, and you know it.”

Video || Biden Appears to Forget Barack Obama’s Name

“My boss,” he says. You know, that guy who was the president and with whom I had lunch once a week and met with every day.

I guess it’s possible he was told by staff he shouldn’t be mentioning Obama’s name for some political reason. Even if that were the case, which I doubt, this sounds ridiculous.

This is getting scary bad.

Six Times Biden Claimed Life Events That Never Happened

This is a funny story from the Washington Examiner. The guy is incapable of telling the truth.

For example, Biden once claimed to be a miner:

While running for president in 2008, Biden told the United Mine Workers that he was a coal miner.

“I hope you won’t hold it against me, but I am a hard-coal miner, anthracite coal, Scranton, Pennsylvania,” Biden said. “It’s nice to be back in coal country. It’s a different accent [in Virginia], but it’s the same deal. We were taught that our faith and our family was the only really important thing, and our faith and our family informed everything we did.”

The Biden campaign later told the AP that his comment was a “joke.” But it echoed another false claim he had made about coming from a family of coal miners during his 1988 campaign.

In a 1988 speech, Biden referred to “my ancestors, who worked in the coal mines of Northeast Pennsylvania and would come up after 12 hours and play football for four hours.” That line was plagiarized from a speech by British politician Neil Kinnock, whose family actually did work in the mines.

In 2004, Biden acknowledged that he did not have family members who worked in mining.

“Hell, I might be president now if it weren’t for the fact I said I had an uncle who was a coal miner. Turns out I didn’t have anybody in the coal mines, you know what I mean? I tried that crap — it didn’t work,” he said during an interview with Jon Stewart.

Warren Pulls Even With Biden in New National Poll of Dems

Elizabeth Warren is in a statistical with Joe Biden’s in the latest national poll of Democratic voters, suggesting the former vice president and aspiring octogenarian’s faltering performance on the campaign trail may be catching up with him. A new Economist/YouGov poll puts Joe at 21 percent and Liz at 20 percent nationally. Bernie is the… Continue Reading

Biden Expresses Sadness Over “Tragic Events” in “Houston” and “Michigan”

Okay, it’s enough. This is the guy who repeatedly, and quite mysteriously, referred during the most recent debate to Cory Booker as “President Booker.” Something is wrong. He cannot be president. He is going to order the bombing of Iraq when he means Iran. These are not mistakes. People deteriorate at different times as they… Continue Reading
