She says he told her a woman couldn’t win the presidency. He says he never said it. So, someone is lying.
I’d lean toward the person who is angrier about the situation as the one telling the truth. But who knows?
CNN debate moderator Abby Philips, though, presumed that he did say it, despite his denial.
UDPATE: Here is audio of their encounter:
Well, there you go. The hammers and sickles are out as the two lefists in the Democratic field try to slay each other.
Warren is desperate, given that Sanders is pulling away from her in polls as the Democratic base goes with the tried-and-true lefty.
Earlier today, Sanders denied a report that he had told Warren that a woman could not beat President Trump. Now Warren herself is saying, while of course trying to pretend she wants to be nice.
From a statement by Warren:
Bernie and I met for more than two hours in December 2018 to discuss the 2020 election, our past work together and our shared goals: beating Donald Trump, taking back our government from the wealthy and well-connected, and building an economy that works for everyone.
Among the topics that came up was what would happen if Democrats nominated a female candidate. I thought a woman could win; he disagreed. I have no interest in discussing this private meeting any further because Bernie and I have far more in common than our differences on punditry.
We have been friends and allies in this fight for a long time, and I have no doubt we will continue to work together to defeat Donald Trump and put our government on the side of the people.
Biden just looks like a tired old man here. All he wants to do is deport people who have committed felonies, but his audience thinks even that is going too far.
I love when Democrats have to deal with the crazy people among their constituents.
Elizabeth Warren has the same problem during one of her recent events. Fortunately, Rep. Ayanna Pressley also speaks crazy and was on hand to calm the situation.
And of course, she opposes charter schools, which allow poor kids to get some of the benefits her kids got.
According to the Washington Free Beacon:
A school yearbook obtained by the Washington Free Beacon indicates, however, that Warren’s son, Alex Warren, attended the Kirby Hall School for at least the 1986-1987 school year, Warren’s final year as a professor at the University of Texas at Austin. The college preparatory school is known for its “academically advanced curriculum” and offers small class sizes for students in grades K-12. The yearbook indicates that Alex Warren attended as a fifth grader.
“Elizabeth’s daughter went to public school. Her son went to public school until 5th grade,” Warren communications director Kristen Orthman told the Washington Free Beacon. “Elizabeth wants every kid to get a great education regardless of where they live, which is why her plan makes a historic investment in our public schools. Every public school should be a great school. Her plan does not affect funding for existing non-profit charter schools, but she believes we should not put public dollars behind a further expansion of charters until they are subject to the same accountability requirements as public schools.”
Sounds like a good reason to . . . immigrate illegally.
And why shouldn’t she do this? The debt is only $1 trillion per year. And we have an unlimited supply of doctors, nurses, expensive medical equipment, and hospitals – it won’t interfere with the provision of health care to American citizens.
At a certain point, the laws of supply and demand kick in, and only the wealthy will get good health care and not have to wait six months to have their cancer removed.
Remember, if she wins, she will pick up where President Trump and Barack Obama left off and do even more by executive fiat. Congress will become mostly irrelevant, and this will be permitted because she will also pack the Supreme Court.
Where is the outrage about this?
Elizabeth Warren listened Tuesday in Iowa as someone in an audience recited a litany of evil supposedly being committed by the United States, including supporting “genocides in Palestine and in Yemen.”
Meantime, the guy craps on the U.S. military, calling it the world’s biggest polluter of any organization in the world, and says, “United States sanctions on Venezuela caused over 40,000 deaths.”
Warren not only fails to correct him, but she agrees with him, nodding in as he speaks and answering, “I like your frame on this.”
How is it even conceivable that such a person could become president. Where is the commentary from the press?
Where are my fellow Jews, so many of them liberals? No doubt their hatred of Trump Derangement syndrome will cause them to vote for this walking catastrophe for Israel should she become the Democratic nominee.
What a shame. Because what could be more immoral and repugnant than accusing the Jewish state of genocide?
Turns out she was let go because she was Native American.
Okay, sorry, turns out she wasn’t fired at all.
According to the Washington Free Beacon:
RIVERDALE, N.J.—The Riverdale Board of Education approved a second-year teaching contractfor a young Elizabeth Warren, documents show, contradicting the Democratic presidential candidate’s repeated claims that she was asked not to return to teaching after a single year because she was “visibly pregnant.”
Minutes of an April 21, 1971, Riverdale Board of Education meeting obtained by the Washington Free Beacon show that the board voted unanimously on a motion to extend Warren a “2nd year” contract for a two-days-per-week teaching job. That job is similar to the one she held the previous year, her first year of teaching. Minutes from a board meeting held two months later, on June 16, 1971, indicate that Warren’s resignation was “accepted with regret.”
Warren’s claim that she was dismissed after her first year of teaching because she was pregnant has become a cornerstone of her stump speeches. She has used it to both explain her jump from teaching into the legal world as well as to showcase the difficulties that women face in the workplace. The principal of the school she worked at in the early 1970s, Warren has said, “showed [her] the door” at the end of the school year because she was “visibly pregnant.”
There are two silver linings to Trump to being impeached. One is that it will energize his base, which doesn’t like the result of elections they won being overturned, which the Democratic have been trying to do for three years. The second is that, given the focus on the Bidens’ nefarious activities in Ukraine, the… Continue Reading
Elizabeth Warren is in a statistical with Joe Biden’s in the latest national poll of Democratic voters, suggesting the former vice president and aspiring octogenarian’s faltering performance on the campaign trail may be catching up with him. A new Economist/YouGov poll puts Joe at 21 percent and Liz at 20 percent nationally. Bernie is the… Continue Reading
Beto of course is doing everything he can to revive his failing campaign. Elizabeth Warren has more credibility on who is a white nationalist, given that she is Native American. Yes, that’s a joke. According to the Washington Post: Two Democratic presidential candidates — Sen. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) and former congressman Beto O’Rourke (Tex.) — said Wednesday… Continue Reading
Kind of fun. Here’s some of the service to the country by Defense Secretary nominee Mark Esper that Elizabeth Warren casually discounts. Via Wikipedia: Esper served as an infantry officer with the 101st Airborne Division and deployed with the “Screaming Eagles” for the 1990–91 Gulf War. His battalion was part of the famous “left hook” that led to… Continue Reading
