As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

How Hillary Rigged the Democratic Primaries Against Bernie

The avarice and the immorality of the Clintons truly know no bounds. In order to gain power, they even ate their own.

Hillary Clinton betrayed millions of Democratic voters by ensuring that the ostensibly neutral Democratic National Committee favored her during the Democratic primaries. It favored her because it was secretly controlled by her.

The reason was money. According to an excerpt from an upcoming book by Donna Brazile, Barack Obama had left the DNC $24 million in debt after the 2012 election and was paying it off, but too slowly because of his “neglect” of fundraising. Meantime, DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz wasn’t doing great at raising money either and was overspending.

But someone was raising money, and that was Hillary Clinton.

According to Brazile, who took over the DNC temporarily after DWS was ousted in the summer of 2016:

As Hillary’s campaign gained momentum, she resolved the party’s debt and put it on a starvation diet. It had become dependent on her campaign for survival, for which she expected to wield control of its operations.

Clinton’s control of the DNC was enshrined in an agreement that Brazile dug up after she took over. Now, there’s nothing wrong with a party’s candidate running the party, right? Except this agreement was signed in August 2015, months before a primary had even been held.

The agreement—signed by Amy Dacey, the former CEO of the DNC, and Robby Mook with a copy to Marc Elias—specified that in exchange for raising money and investing in the DNC, Hillary would control the party’s finances, strategy, and all the money raised. Her campaign had the right of refusal of who would be the party communications director, and it would make final decisions on all the other staff. The DNC also was required to consult with the campaign about all other staffing, budgeting, data, analytics, and mailings.

The funding arrangement  . . .  was not illegal, but it sure looked unethical. If the fight had been fair, one campaign would not have control of the party before the voters had decided which one they wanted to lead. This was not a criminal act, but as I saw it, it compromised the party’s integrity.

I told Bernie I had found Hillary’s Joint Fundraising Agreement. I explained that the cancer was that she had exerted this control of the party long before she became its nominee. Had I known this, I never would have accepted the interim chair position, but here we were with only weeks before the election.

Bernie Sanders was right. The system was rigged against his voters. By the Democrats.

Update and Correction: DNC Officials Dismissive of Holocaust

The original story printed here suggests that DNC staffer Ryan Banfill poked fun at the Holocaust by stating ironically,  “This is about remembering the Holocaust. Never forget.”

Ryan, who is married to a Jewish woman and raising his kids Jewish, has written me what appears to be a heartfelt note stating unquivocally and passionately that his statement was not meant to be ironic.

Ryan wrote:

I usually let things roll off my back but your characterization of this is 180 degrees from where I was coming from. Being the father of Jewish children and deeply in love with my Jewish wife, I just can’t let your characterization of this stand.

I know our politics may differ but the Holocaust was a crime against generations — a horrific crime against all people.

I really wish you would rephrase what you wrote and accurately reflect what I wrote as being straight up what I wrote. “It’s about the Holocaust” and “Never Again.” I did not and would never downplay the Holocaust.

I’d be happy to discuss this with you if you like but please, for my family, our Rabbi and congregation, change what you wrote.

In that case, he must have been trying to influence the other DNC staffer, Kate Houghton, to help her understand that Holocaust Memorial Day is a particularly solemn day and stands out from other religious holidays.

After some thought, I have decided to accept Ryan’s explanation and I believe he is being truthful with me, despite the seeming sarcasm, and I have apologized to him.

Below is the original story, which should now be read with the above in mind.

*******

When Debbie Wasserman Schultz asked her staffers for a statement on Holocaust Memorial Day, two of her aides mocked her and the Holocaust and one suggested the murder of 6 million Jews was no bigger deal than the Bosnia massacre.

“We need to do a statement from the DNC. Is there a reason we haven’t?” Wasserman Schultz asked in the email to communications director Ryan Banfill on May 5 of this year.

Banfill forwarded Schultz’s email to DNC staffer, Kate Houghton. “Flagging for you. The chair is asking for a statement on Yom Hashoah,” Banfill wrote.

“We aren’t going to do statements for every Jewish holiday unless she wants to do them for every religious holiday and trust me, this Catholic can give you a list of them,” Houghton replied. “Also when she does an official statement it makes very little sense to have two statements out there in her voice.”

Banfill poked fun at the Holocaust with what appeared to be an ironic reply. “This is about remembering the Holocaust. Never forget.”

“Yup… or Darfur or Armenia or Rwanda or Bosnia (which PS is where my husband served),” Houghton replied. “Does she want us to do one for each other those remembrance days as well?”

With the appearance of Palestinian flags on the floor of the Democratic convention, it should be clear by now which party is pro-Israel and a friend of the Jews, and which is not. But judging by the political sympathies of my fellow Jews, the point still somehow needs to be made.

H/T Daily Caller.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz Booed Off the Stage at DNC Breakfast

She should be. She didn’t play fair, she was supposed to be a neutral presence in the Democratic primaries, and she was all in for Hillary.

At this event, she was forced by Bernie Sanders supporters to break off her speech and was escorted out by security.

She’s supposed to gavel the convention to order at 4 pm ET today. She might want to reconsider.

Here’s another view.

Reminds me of this.

DWS’s Rabbi Denounced Iran Deal She Supported

Now this is humorous. Democratic national Committee Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Shultz apparently had to sit through a Yom Kippur sermon by her own rabbi tearing into members of Congress who supported President Obama’s Iranian nuclear deal.

Wow. Good for this rabbi. I wonder how many rabbis spoke out against this. Most of my fellow Jews, and the rabbis who lead them, are ardently liberal, pacifist, etc., particularly among the Reform denomination, which is the largest.

I imagine she was pretty shocked.

The Jews, whether in Congress or not, who accept this deal are akin, unfortunately, to the many German Jews in the 1930s who hoped for the best with Hitler. Their intentions and beliefs were well meaning. But they failed to recognize the nature of true evil, and the results of such naive hopefulness are catastrophic.

In the case of the German Jews, it was at least understandable. I mean, who then could imagine that a civilized society would do what it did? And they would have had to leave their homes, families, and friends.

The American Jews supporting this agreement need only apply a bit of wisdom and backbone. Iran has stated its intentions. And the Iranians are obvious fanatics.

My co-religionists think the problem is far away, and though they care about Israel, they don’t live there.

But Iran is building ICBMs. So just wait.

DWS: Such a Classy Gal

I received an email Saturday afternoon from the Chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

She decided to lower the bar for me. The title? “This really pisses me off, Keith.”

debbiewassermanschultz

She was so pissed off, she asked me for $3:

Republicans in Congress are dead-set on rolling back the progress that Democrats like you and I have worked so hard to achieve. They’ve already said that they’re going to try to repeal Obamacare, after more than 50 unsuccessful attempts (and two Supreme Court rulings in the law’s favor). They want to completely defund Planned Parenthood, an organization that provides necessary health services to women across the country. And if they don’t get their way, they’re just fine with shutting down the government — again!

I’m going to be frank: That pisses me off. As a woman, a mother, and a cancer survivor, I say that we can’t stand for this kind of irresponsible behavior — and it’s exactly what we’ll see more of if Republicans retain their majority in 2016. The American people deserve better.

Well, with the culture so coarsened, I guess, what difference does it make that our political leaders intentionally – as opposed to in a moment of frustration – discuss what is “pissing them off.”

How long before President Obama drops the F-Bomb and asks for five bucks? Not long, perhaps.

DWS Won’t Commit to the Iran Deal

You go girl!

Spastically vitriolic DNC Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz is suddenly a paragon of probity and careful consideration, refusing to say whether she will vote in favor of President Obama’s Iran nuclear deal.

I’m gonna go home and speak to my constituents who have been weighing in, and I’ll reach a conclusion on what I’m going to do with my vote once I really feel like I’ve been able to thoroughly review the whole deal . . . There’s lot of merit to the deal, but there’s also a legitimate cause for concern.

DWS is thinkin’ on it because any dummy can see that all this deal does is make Iran wait 10-15 years before it acquires a nuclear weapon it can Fedex straight to Tel Aviv. And she knows her constituents get it too.

I’m glad her compassion for Israel has knocked some sense into her.

DWS Won’t Say Voting for Dems is a Vote for Obama Policies

It’s terrible. Joe Scarborough this morning decided to torture DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. He kept asking her if voting for Democrats in the election was a vote for the policies of the president of the United States and LEADER OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY Barck Obama. Such an unfair question.

She kept trying not to answer. It’s painful to watch. I don’t recommend it.

Here’s Sen. Jeane Shaheen, D-N.H., getting laughed at last night during a debate for ducking a question about whether she approves of Obama.

She won’t even say whether she supports Harry Reid as Democratic leader.

I think she admits to being a Democrat.

DWS in Deep Democratic DooDoo

Does Debbie Wasserman Schultz bug you? I know she does. Guess what. She bugs Obama too.

According to Politico, the White House nearly got rid of her after 2012 and the Hillary Clinton campaign, as it gets up in running, probably will finish the job.

From the piece:

Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is in a behind-the-scenes struggle with the White House, congressional Democrats and Washington insiders who have lost confidence in her as both a unifying leader and reliable party spokesperson at a time when they need her most.

Long-simmering doubts about her have reached a peak after two recent public flubs: criticizing the White House’s handling of the border crisis and comparing the tea party to wife beaters . . . .

The Obama team was so serious about replacing her after 2012 that they found a replacement candidate to back before deciding against it, according to people familiar with those discussions.

Obama and Wasserman Schultz have rarely even talked since 2011. They don’t meet about strategy or messaging. They don’t talk much on the phone.

Instead, the DNC chairwoman stakes out the president of the United States at the end of photo lines at events and fundraisers.

“You need another picture, Debbie?” Obama tends to say, according to people who’ve been there for the encounters.

One particularly annoying habit according to the piece, as the DSW wants the DNC to pay for her clothes.

Here she is in her most recent gaffe, comparing tea party members to domestic violence abusers.

DWS Likens Tea Party to Physical Assault on Women

Now imagine if Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus did this. There’d be scores of Code Pink activists outside the RNC demanding his immediate castration, and possibly his removal from his post. From the Milwaukee Sentinel: Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz ripped into Republican Gov. Scott Walker’s record Wednesday during a round-table discussion on… Continue Reading

Wasserman Schultz Hitches Ride on AF1 to Israel

Democratic National Committee Chairman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) is accompanying President Obama to Israel, adding a decidedly political element to Obama’s first trip to the Holy Land as president. Wasserman Schultz, who is Jewish, was joined on Air Force One by another House Democrat, Rep. Eliot Engel of New York, who is also Jewish. No… Continue Reading
