A veteran who was severely wounded in the Iraq War has started a GoFundMe page to raise money to build a wall between the United States and Mexico
The page as of 8:00 am Thursday had raised more than $3 million from more than 50,000 people in just three days. The goal is to raise $1 billion. No doubt the fundraising will accelerate as the page gains greater publicity.
“My name is Brian Kolfage, I have a verified blue check facebook page as a public figure and I’m a Purple Heart Recipient triple amputee veteran,” the man who launched the fundraiser writes on the page.
President Trump is close to being defeated in his efforts to obtain $5 billion in funding this year for the wall. The Senate last night passed legislation that would maintain government funding at current levels until February in order to avoid a shutdown. Trump still has not said whether he will sign the bill
