As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Obama Goes 2 for 22 on the WH B-Ball Court

Updated 2:41 pm ET

Hanging out during the Easter Egg Roll festivities, President Obama decided to try taking some shots on the White House basketball court. Big mistake.

From the press pool report:

POTUS at basketball court, with kids and Washington Wizards (don’t have all names but John Wall included — will get details for final wrap)

POTUS stepped to free throw line and kids were asked to stand on opposite sides, depending on whether they think he would sink it. Most kids moved in one direction, but one boy went to the “miss” side.

“Oh, man,” a stunned POTUS said, hands on hips. The boy didn’t budge. And three others joined.

In sharp form, POTUS released the ball. It bounced off the rim and circled it — miss.

“Come on. Come on. Did you see that?” Obama said.

It got worse.

A little while later, after playing tennis, Obama started to take shots amid the kids and pros.

Miss. Miss. Off the rim. Miss. Miss. Off the rim. Airball.

He moved closer to the net.

But time and again, he missed. Of 22 shots POTUS took, he made two. (22 was general consensus of poolers)

At one point, POTUS handed a ball to a boy and asked for help. The boy made the layup.

“He couldn’t make one. I had to help him out,” said Kahron Campbell, 10, of Landover, MD.

One hopes his golf game is a little better. But one imagines not.

Here’s some video of the catastrophe:

And here’s some footage I thought you might like to see of Obama and Romney playing some one-on-one last fall.

Obama indeed has a nasty ass bruise on his lip, which was presented for public display during an appearance at the White House this afternoon.

Was that guy wearing a razor blade on his elbow?

Is it possible to listen seriously to anything Obama says with that grotesque bloody splotch sitting on his lip? What will the scar look like?

And what, please remind me, was he talking about?

Done With Hoops

Obama returned to the White House at 11:34 am ET from the Fort McNair Physical Fitness Center, where he played basketball, apparently indoors.

IRONICALLY, just yesterday, McNair was the setting forĀ  the retirement ceremony of former Afghan war Commander Gen. Stanley McChrystal, who lives there too. McChrystal, of course, “retired” after dissing the administration just a little too much.

Here are some comments from the “pool” reporter who accompanied Obama in the motorcade today to Fort McNair.

The facility is near Gen. Stanley McChrystal’s home, which your pooler saw on a drive around the base to find some shade. The parade field at McNair did not show any trace of last night’s retirement ceremony for McChrystal.

With the increasing focus on his love of country club sport, particularly by me, Obama this morning turns back to the sport of the street.

The motorcade exited the White House at 9:33 am ET headed to Fort McNair, where Obama will be shooting hoops with body man Reggie Love, among others. Not sure if they’re playing outside or not.

This still leaves time for golf this weekend, in my view, but it could affect our voting in the poll which you can find over in the right hand column. So far, White House Dossier readers – including this one – are UNANIMOUSĀ  in predicting Obama will go golfing this weekend.
