In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Biden begins to undermine Trump recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital

Donald Trump was about the best friend Israel has had in the White House and fostered Mideast peace deals, largely ignored by the press and the Washington intelligentsia.

Leave it to the Democrats to try to roll all that back.

According to the Washington Free Beacon:

The Biden administration elevated diplomatic relations with the Palestinian government, in what diplomats warn is the first step to walking back the United States’ historic recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

The State Department confirmed to the Washington Free Beacon that a new Office of Palestinian Affairs will be established in Jerusalem and act independently of the U.S. ambassador to Israel’s office there. The formation of a separate diplomatic office bolsters U.S. relations with the Palestinian government and could violate the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995, which mandated that a single U.S. embassy be established in the holy city.

The State Department also confirmed that it is working to go even further—opening an official Palestinian consulate in Jerusalem wholly independent of the U.S. embassy in Israel . . .

Former U.S. diplomats who spoke to the Free Beacon about the move said the Biden administration is trying to undermine former President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, which eliminated a formal distinction between West and East Jerusalem. By establishing an office dedicated to the Palestinian government in the city, the administration is reopening the possibility of allowing that government to assume control of portions of the city.

  1. Yawn… orange man bad, Hunter a genius … everything else good.

    Brandon is an idiot.

All we can do is satirize the moment. Otherwise, we’ll start crying!

    1. I’ve been crying for sometime now, as it’s getting near impossible to make light of any of this. Many, including me, think this chaos is all by design.

      1. To quote Mark Steyn… “America is not a serious nation.”

We have not been a serious nation since 2016…when the biased mainstream media & socialist-Democrat party started an undeclared open hate-filled War against everyone who ‘voted’ for and supported Pres. Trump.

I have become a cynical, lonely Stoic so I am waiting for this “United States of America” to truly collapse domestically & internationally.

  2. I live in metro NY. I have many close Jewish friends. I am not Jewish, but have immense respect for them. What puzzles me is how the overwhelming majority of Jews vote left, some far left, when the officials they put in place turn their back on Israel. Perhaps it is just my perspective, but I shake my head in disbelief.
Any one notice the same thing?

    1. I have a Jewish friend. She always votes for the Democratics She did not like Trump. She does not want to discuss anthing political. I told her I did not want to change her just wanted to know why she was anti Isreal.

      1. PJ, you are right… puzzling. For a faith so steeped in one region, one country, it baffles me to see how they vote. Once upon a time, the left was for so many positions that aligned well with the Jewish American population, not now.

  3. When the Republicans take over Congress next January they MUST use their power to appropriate funds to prevent Biden from pulling this crap. They must insist that the laws such as the Jerusalem Embassy Act be respected. Sue, sue, sue. Take it to the Supreme Court. Republicans must use any/all means at our disposal to combat Biden’s policies. Every single one of them.
