President Biden promised to make Saudi Arabia a “pariah” state. But that was for when gasoline prices were low.
According to Fox News:
Biden, during a Democratic presidential primary debate in 2019, promised to make the kingdom a global “pariah” due to its mistreatment of human beings, violations of international law and open hostility to the U.S. — including the killing of a Washington Post journalist.
“We were going to in fact make [Saudi Arabia] pay the price, and make them, in fact, the pariah that they are,” Biden said at the time.
During the White House press briefing Tuesday, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked whether the president still seeks to make Saudi Arabia a “pariah.”
“He said, as president, he believes that if there is any, any way to get peace, he feels like he should take that — that direction,” Jean-Pierre said. “So, Saudi Arabia has been a strategic partner of the United States for eight decades — every president since FDR has met with Saudi leaders, and the president considers Saudi Arabia an important partner on a host of regional and global strategies, including other efforts to end the war in Yemen, contain Iran and counterterrorism.”

Biden said during tge campaign that he would shutdown the oil industry. Nevermind he would ruin the economy and put Americans on the government dole. It’s about “saving” the environment. But wait, whe will go to countries that hate us, have human rights abuses, and beg them for oil. So asking the Saudis fir more oil and shipping it over here is better for the environment? Not sure about that.
Dave, its all about optics.
Perfectly aok to grab oil from the Mideast, Venezuela, maybe even Putin if the maniac stops killing people.
But heaven forbid we stick a shovel in our sacred ground.
The other day I read Biden was “thanking” OPEC for boosting oil production by 200,000 barrels per day. That kind of dirty fossil fuel is applauded.
The Keystone XL would produce about 800,000 barrels per day.
If we are a global society dead set on saving the planet, how is it our land is somehow more valuable than the rest of the world? Pretty damn selfish attitude from a group that touts inclusion and equity.
They make me sick

Maybe climate change only happens in this half if the world?
We don’t need Saudi Arabia’s oil, we have plenty here! Past time to go back to President Trump’s energy policy!
