Looks like Sen. Joe Manchin stood his ground.
A statement by President Biden Thursday suggesting passing the $2 trillion bill could take weeks:
My team and I are having ongoing discussions with Senator Manchin; that work will continue next week. It takes time to finalize these agreements, prepare the legislative changes, and finish all the parliamentary and procedural steps needed to enable a Senate vote. We will advance this work together over the days and weeks ahead.
Or just maybe, never.

I guess seeking favor from Joe Manchin by giving his wife a salaried Federal job isn’t working out so well for Biden. I’m frankly amazed that Manchin, who talks tough, is holding his ground. We’ll see.
