Biden dispatches spy chief to meet with the Taliban

Are we now in a position of begging the Taliban to let us stay beyond Aug. 31 in order to get our people out of the country?

Even the Washington Post describes the effort to remove Americans from Afghanistan as “frantic.”

According to the Post:

CIA Director William J. Burns held a secret meeting Monday in Kabul with the Taliban’s de facto leader, Abdul Ghani Baradar, in the highest-level face-to-face encounter between the Taliban and the Biden administration since the militants seized the Afghan capital, according to U.S. officials familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive diplomacy.

President Biden dispatched his top spy, a veteran of the Foreign Service and the most decorated diplomat in his Cabinet, amid a frantic effort to evacuate people from Kabul international airport in what Biden has called “one of the largest, most difficult airlifts in history.”

Biden faces pressure to extend Afghanistan evacuation mission as Taliban warns against doing so

The CIA declined to comment on the Taliban meeting, but the discussions are likely to have involved an impending Aug. 31 deadline for the U.S. military to conclude its airlift of U.S. citizens and Afghan allies.

The Biden administration is under pressure from some allies to keep U.S. forces in the country beyond the end of the month to assist the evacuation of tens of thousands of citizens of the United States and Western countries as well as Afghan allies desperate to escape Taliban rule.

Britain, France and other U.S. allies have said more time is needed to evacuate their personnel, but a Taliban spokesman warned that the United States would be crossing a “red line” if it kept troops beyond the 31st, which he said would trigger unspecified “consequences.”

  1. Was this Burns guy BEGGING the Taliban to PLEASE let us remove our American citizens safely? If so, what did Burns (the USA) promise in return? Tons of cash like what obama the Terrible did to the evil Iranian regime? What the hell is a USA Intelligence director talking directly to the Taliban in Kabul? Isn’t this the job of the SEC of STATE and the Nat’l Security Advisor?

So many questions, much confusion, embarrassment, chaos, anguish, suffering, destruction and pain with this evil biden regime, a regime that’s making us the USA the laughing stock of the world.

  2. Our ridiculous Main Stream Media attempted to smear Trump for wanting to negotiate with the Taliban BEFORE withdrawal. Trump knew the reality that faced Afghanistan when the US withdrew and wanted to set firm parameters.

So now we’re left with Biden’s Afghanistan catastrophe where the US is left pleading with the Taliban. OMG.

  3. And the unmitigated gall of Jen Psaki to say there are no Americans stranded in Kabul. Awful, evil Biden Administration – all of them.

    1. I love how she basically admitted that “…we have stranded them”, as she denied stranding them. There was no accusation specifically that the Biden administration stranded them, just that the were stranded. But she basically admitted that it was their master decision-making that is to blame.
