  1. This bill is recognition of the recent rash of Asian Hate crimes and basically instructs local law enforcement to act and raise awareness of these hate crimes. Sounds good, no one wants hate crimes. But it is more fluff with zero real substance. Recently a police data report indicated 85% of Asian hate crimes were being committed by African American men. This is a stat, not a biased opinion. IF this is accurate, and if the report can be trusted, we need to focus on the pockets of America where this is occurring and get into the neighborhoods, proactively. Broad proclamations are good for the news cycle, but really, does it move the needle on the issue? I think not. We have a huge urban issue in our country. 7 people shot in NY last night. Others stabbed. We are losing grip and simply signing proclamations will not suffice, for ALL Americans everywhere.
