White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki admitted in an interview with her former Obama White House colleague David Axelrod on “The Axe Files” podcast that the White House does not like it when President Biden spontaneously takes questions
“That is not something we recommend.” She says, “In fact, a lot of times we say, ‘Don’t take questions,’ you know, but he’s going to do what he wants to do because he’s the president.”
She also suggested that other White Houses have gone too far in providing access for the press.
“We’re never going to satisfy the White House press corps and their desires for access,” she said. “And I think there have been mistakes made in the past of trying to do that.”
Psaki indicated she only plans to stay in her role for about a year.
