In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Biden to quadruple refugee cap to 62,500

That’s for the current fiscal year, which ends October 1.

He is not going to get to 62,500. But he is working to get to 125,000 next fiscal year.

Biden was under huge pressure from Democrat to increase the number of slots.

“Today, I am revising the United States’ annual refugee admissions cap to 62,500 for this fiscal year,” Biden said in a Monday statement. “This erases the historically low number set by the previous administration of 15,000, which did not reflect America’s values as a nation that welcomes and supports refugees. The new admissions cap will also reinforce efforts that are already underway to expand the United States’ capacity to admit refugees, so that we can reach the goal of 125,000 refugee admissions that I intend to set for the coming fiscal year.”

Biden is creating 22,000 spots for refugees from Africa, 6,000 from East Asia, 4,000 from Europe and Central Asia, 5,000 from Latin America and the Caribbean, and 13,000 from South Asia.

  1. Oh sure, bring in thousands of possibly illiterate refugees from Africa, as well as thousands more from Asian nations. Great idea. As if the illegal hordes streaming in from Mexico and Central America aren’t enough..
