In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Biden speech: No plan to address the crisis at the border

There is where language matters. If you can’t even say the word “crisis,” you’re less likely to do anything about it.

Thousands of people are suffering because of President Biden’s immigration policy, languishing in camps on the Southern border. Kids are separated from their parents because Biden held up the welcome sign at the border and parents sent their children to the United States. Meantime, drugs and probably terrorists surge into the country because Border Patrol agents are overwhelmed by the incoming and distracted trying to care for children.

In his speech to Congress Wednesday night, Biden offered no solutions. Instead, he exacerbated the problem by pressing for more immigration reform that will make it easier for people to stay here, further incentivizing the make the trip.

If Donald Trump didn’t address an obvious crisis, he would have been blasted as cold, mean, and racist.

Biden’s “plan” is to get at the “root” of the problem. He said:

“We also have to get at the root of the problem of why people are fleeing to our southern border from Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador. The violence. The corruption. The gangs. The political instability. Hunger. Hurricanes. Earthquakes.”

Well, that will take years at best. And you’re talking about “roots” that have existed in Latin America since the Spanish left. And good look getting rid of earthquakes.

Even liberal Biden admirer Robin Roberts of NBC understands that there is a disconnect here and asked Vice President Harris about it.

  1. I couldn’t agree more with what you wrote Rebekah. Their “root problem” solution, like all far left solutions to any issue, is to simply pour more money, in this particular case, pour billions to central american corrupt politicians who will pocket most of that money. The end result will be a disaster to our nation, to hard working, tax-paying Americans, to our culture, to our national financial health, to increased risk of COVID, to loss of jobs to illegals, to increased suffering by Americans from increased flow of drugs and arms … it’s a rather long list. It’s a disaster in the making. This has come to a stop. The mid term elections will determine if this is to continue. Woe to our nation if it continues. Pray that the mid term balloting will not be “fixed”

  2. Liberals know they can get away with anything the mainstream “media” won’t cover. Republicans need to keep going to the border, acting as journalists, in order for there to be any coverage.

Can’t the Republicans coordinate between themselves to send a different group of representatives every week?!! At least the border crisis would be covered by local news. Good grief, this seems so simple. Get out there!!

    1. The bulk of Republicans in Congress are wimps, spineless. Some are worse, e.g., Romney. But the greater of the two evils, in my opinion, are the Demoncrats.
