Conservative WashPost columnist demands Biden apologize for calling Capitol Police racist

Yes, President Biden did suggest, the day after the riot, that the Capitol Police were racist.

And yes, the Washington Post does have a conservative columnist.

After Democrats played videos Thursday of the heroic actions of Capitol Police during the Jan. 6 riots, it is obvious that Biden’s contention that they would have handled black protestors differently is wrong.

The supposed uniter is guilty of ugly divisiveness.

From the column by Mark Thiessen:

Instead of praising the Capitol Police for their heroism, he accused them of racism.

“Not only did we see the failure to protect one of the three branches of our government, we also saw a clear failure to carry out equal justice,” Biden declared.

“No one can tell me that if it had been a group of Black Lives Matter protesting yesterday, they wouldn’t have been treated very differently than the mob of thugs that stormed the Capitol. We all know that’s true. And it is unacceptable.”

Biden’s comments were not only shameful; they were flat wrong. The video shown by House impeachment managers clearly shows that police failed to stop the mob not because of the color of their skin but because the officers were overpowered. They showed D.C. police officer Daniel Hodges screaming in pain as he tried to stop the rioters from entering the Capitol, his body trapped against a door while the mob heaved and crushed him.

  1. We’ve learned that powerful forces in the US conspired to defeat MrTrump’s reelection at any cost, by any means. They were successful.
There aren’t too many citizens who believe that that election wasn’t a fraud, that cheating was done to elect Biden.
When MrTrump announced a rally in DC on the day of the vote certification, a plan was enacted to use his supporters as foils in a protest. It was a set-up, a diabolical plan to invade the building and to cause as much havoc as possible , all to set the blame on MrTrump and his supporters.
The police were called “racists” by Biden and other Dems until it was learned that a White woman was shot and killed by one of the “racist police”. Unsure of the actual shooter, they stopped the accusations.
To this day, no one employed as a Capitol Police has been identified as the shooter/killer of this unarmed woman.

    1. I agree with you that powerful forces in the USA conspired to “defeat” President Trump at any cost. I will add that foreign entities were also involved mostly with Huge amounts of dollar donations which was easy to do.

  2. Powerful forces a la those revealed in Molly Ball’s Time article “The Secret History of the Shadow Campaign that Saved the 2020 Election.” Substitute “stole” for “saved” and you get the idea.

  3. Being a Vet and working in corporate security… after watching riot videos-hearing radio calls from the “US Capitol Police” on Jan 6…I am NOT impressed with the Capitol Police; they acted more like unarmed civilian security guards/rent-a-cops, than a “professional federal police force”

      1. Perfect example of reality sounding like crazy fiction. The organization that organized mobs to destroy people and property over several months is nominated for a peace prize. This is why people of good faith are losing faith in our institutions.

        1. Would not be surprised if the prize is given to BLM rather than to President Trump who in reality made a huge contribution towards Peace in a significant way in the Middle East. Such is the unReality of today’s world, a twisted, evil distortion of reality.
