The White House suddenly this week came up with the formulation that if a school meets once a week, it’s reopened. That was to falsely satisfy President Biden’s promise that more than half the schools would be reopened within 100 days of his administration.
The reason Biden doesn’t want to reopen schools is that the teachers unions are telling him not to, because their members don’t want to go back. Those unions were instrumental in getting him elected president. It’s not complicated.
“Are they going to listen to the teachers unions or are they going to listen to health officials?” asked MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough.
The former, not the latter, is the answer.
