McConnell recognizes Biden as president

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell today recognized Joe Biden as president-elect, congratulating him on his victory after the Electoral College Monday voted to make Biden president.

This will no doubt help ease the way for a number of other leading Republicans wary of angering President Trump to go ahead and recognize Biden.

“The Electoral College has spoken. So today, I want to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden,” McConnell said.  “The president-elect is no stranger to the Senate. He’s devoted himself to public service for many years. I also want to congratulate the vice president-elect, our colleague from California, Sen. Harris. Beyond our differences, all Americans can take pride that our nation has a female vice president-elect for the very first time.”

  1. He should have said…I congratulate them on cheating their way to the White House.

I will NEVER congratulate those lying corrupt pieces of garbage.

    1. Not only will I never congratulate, I’ll never recognize JoeDementia, Heels-up or their cabinet picks. This is nothing less than an Obama third term.

  2. McConnell must think that if GOP leaders don’t display “magnanimity” by congratulating Biden on his fraudulent “win” that Georgia voters will punish Republicans by electing Ossoff and Warnock. The opposite is probably true! When conservative voters see GOP leaders throwing in the towel before EVERY legal avenue is exhausted , enough of them may become disspirited and sit home on 5 January…handing those Senate seats to the two radicals In close elections, 1% of a party’s voters sitting it home on Election Day can spell defeat.

    1. Yes, I know early voting has already begun. And that this is why McC made his announcement now instead of waiting for the all the challenges to play out. I do hope that President Trump NEVER formally concedes…even if he leaves office on 20 January. To do so would be to confer legitimacy on the steal.
