Hunter Biden, who will be a persistent source of trouble for Joe Biden as president and would have been more of a problem for him as a candidate if the press did its job during the campaign, is under federal investigation.
“I learned yesterday for the first time that the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware advised my legal counsel, also yesterday, that they are investigating my tax affairs,” Hunter Biden said in a statement Wednesday. “I take this matter very seriously but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisors.”
The Biden-Harris transition team expressed support: “President-elect Biden is deeply proud of his son, who has fought through difficult challenges, including the vicious personal attacks of recent months, only to emerge stronger.”

With this investigation, prosecutors will get into all kinds of financial dealings involving Hunter Biden, because money that moves gets taxed. And therefore, they will look at anything related to this that involves his father. If this were Don Trump Jr., the media would pursue this with relish because they know it could lead to the president. But this is Biden, not Trump. And watch to see if Biden replaces this U.S. attorney as a matter of “routine” changing of the guard as a new president steps in.
