In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Video || Reagan warned the country about the Democrats in 1964

It’s eerie how applicable this is today. It’s an excerpt from Ronald Reagan’s famous 1964 speech, “A time for choosing.”

Some of the quotes he attributes to Democrats then could come right out of any leftists mouth today.

Sen. Fulbright has said at Stanford University that the Constitution is outmoded. He referred to the president as our moral teacher and our leader, and he said that he is hobbled in his task by the restrictions imposed on his by this antiquated document. He must be freed, so that he can do for us, what he knows is best.

The president of course at that time being Lyndon Johnson. They’ll say the same if Joe Biden gets in.

Reagan said:

I’d like to suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There’s only an up or down. Man’s age-old dream, the ultimate in individual freedom consistent with law and order, or down to the antheap of totalitarianism.

The Democrats are indeed proceeding further and further downward.
