In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

White House Dossier will not publish today – July 3, 2020

Good morning. White House Dossier will not publish today, but I will run a live stream of President Trump’s appearance at Mount Rushmore at 10:10 pm ET. I’ll be back full-time Monday.

Have a great Fourth of July, celebrating the greatest country in the history of the world. Please stay safe.

  1. We learned that the NFL is planning to destroy what is left of their fan base by playing something they call the “Black national anthem” at the start of some football games.
As an admitted football junkie since the late 1950’s , a die hard Steeler fan, and one who never saw a Black player or a White player, I can say they finally found the push to make me question my love of the game and all it’s players.
Why would they do that, how does that make sense? I don’t know.

My love of God, Family, and Country comes before any game, any person, or passion. There is only one National Anthem for the whole United States of America.

  2. SERDEM65, I too am unhappy with the NFL. It appears to me the current players want to put the hurt on their opponent. That is why there are so concussions.
I saw lots of good games at the Astrodome when the Steelers came to play the Oilers. They always won but also had their hands full.
I grew up a Cowboy fan. You either love them or hate them. Bradshaw is always fun to watch on FOX Sports. He is pretty smart to be labeled dumb.

  3. The NFL pretty much croaked the first time Roger Goodell let Crapperdick sit on his ass during the anthem.

He should have lowered the boom, on day one, and said, No anthem, no game, 4-game suspension for violating the League’s personal conduct standards, no pay, no questions. Repeat offense, lifetime ban for conduct deemed detrimental to the League. Boom, done. Problem solved.

Instead, he treated it like he thought it was a temporary temper tantrum. When he realized how utterly wrong he was, it was already too late. He’d given them them an inch, and they showed him up by taking a light-year. His only viable option at that point, metaphorically speaking of course, was to spread ’em a little wider and give the kneelers some extra lube.

And my disgust at Goodell’s conduct in office, is probably several orders of magnitude beyond the disgust you just felt when you read that last sentence.

Gridiron football sure was fun while it lasted, huh?

Memo to the NHL: do not go wobbly now.
