In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Pelosi open to removing statues of Washington, Jefferson, and other Founding Fathers

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Thursday said she that the removal of statues of George Washington. Thomas Jefferson and other Founding Fathers should be considered because they were slave owners.

“I’m all for it. Let’s review it. Why are we glorifying the sins of the past?” Pelosi said during a “Washington Post live” event.

Pelosi suggested that the sins of Confederate were worse because they committed treason and that Washington and Jefferson holding slaves should not “undermine what they did for our country.”

Nevertheless, she said whether to keep their statues on their pedestals should be reviewed.

“You know what, subject everything to scrutiny and make a decision,” she said.

This woman is the Speaker of the House. It’s a watershed moment.

  1. Hey Nan…. put your $ where your flapping gums are, and take down the statue of your Daddy that is now in Baltimore….. See this:
In 2017, conservative commentators noted that in 1948, D’Alesandro dedicated the Stonewall Jackson and Robert E. Lee Monument in his capacity as Mayor of Baltimore, along with the then-Governor of Maryland, William Preston Lane Jr.[7] His son, Thomas D’Alesandro III, who later served as Mayor of Baltimore from 1967 to 1971, said about his father “His whole life was politics. He was not what you would call a flaming liberal, but he was a progressive.”[3]

    1. Fancy Nancy plastic face’s likeness should not be anywhere inside or outside the Capitol. Lunacy is obvious. Perhaps Andrew Cuomo could invite her to live in a NY nursing home.

  2. I sure hope she was recorded — that should help a lot of candidates flip the House in November. She’s out of her alcoholic, f’ing mind!!!

  3. This needs to be heard near and far.
All citizens of good will and patriotism will do the right thing in November.
Of all the millions of loyal Americans who are traditional Democrats,
can’t they come up with someone better than this?

    1. If there are any “traditional“ Democrats in existence where are they, and why aren’t they standing up for this country?

  4. Enough already.

At this point, the choices should be, either you love this country, as it is now, and as it aspires to be; or else your take your Marxist bullshit, and you fuck off somewhere else.

Note well: “as it was” is not part of that formulation. Acknowledging past mistakes, is part of growing up, both as a person, and as a people. Denying the past, prevents growth; without growth, there can be no future. Therefore:

To deny the past, is to deny the future.

If assuring a future for self-government means revocation of citizenship and forced expatriation for the parelthonoclasts, then by God, so be it.

I mean, a border wall is nice and all, but it’s too little, too late, to deal with the domestic enemies of the Constitution of the United States of America.

Give the malcontents a one-way flight to whatever shithole will take them. Let them die with their delusions, if that’s what it takes.

But Marxism and individual liberty cannot coexist. And if liberty’s enemies succeed in destroying the very idea of self-government, then I fear the scale of death and destruction that will befall mankind, will be beyond human comprehension.

    1. You don’t want to go to NZ. My son lived there for six years. He moved back a couple years ago because of the new Prime Minister;). Unfortunately it is changing.

  5. Still waiting for Robert “KKK” Byrd’s photos, statues and name to be removed from from DC and everywhere else he has be honored.
