In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Video || Trump Bolts After Reporter Suggests He Said “Ask China” Since She is Asian American

CBS News White House correspondent Weijia Jiang Monday asked President Trump why he was comparing U.S. testing for the coronavirus to that of other countries.

“Why does that matter? Why is this a global competition to you if every day Americans are still losing their lives?” asked Jiang.

“They are losing their lives everywhere in the world,” Trump responded. “And maybe that’s a question you should ask China. Don’t ask me. Ask China that question, OK? When you ask them that question, you might get a very unusual answer.”

Jiang, who was born in China and raised in West Virginia, tried to ask why he was “specifically” telling her to ask China a question. Trump said it was a question for “anybody” and sought to move to another reporter. When a CNN reporter insisted on asking a question next, Trump ended the news conference.

  1. There isn’t a single American who doesn’t blame China for the whole virus/quarantine thing.
If the Chinese are offended by this, well, too bad.

  2. You write this as if the President was being petulant and cowardly left the field. Jiang thought she had finally tripped the President into a “gotcha” racist moment. He wasn’t having any of it and left. Good for him.

    1. i think the cnn reporter wished to continue asking potus why he asked jiang such a question. since she insisted, he left rather than argue. another point (which i believe i read on twitter)- for how long did msm bug trump about the usa supposedly lagging behind in testing, but now that he corrects msm, suddenly he’s asked why he thinks it’s a competition.

  3. Anyone notice that Chinese activists are now being included in the WH Press Conferences? This wasn’t the first;) I don’t give a crap where she was born.

  4. I would like to see Trump just call out these gotcha questions, and in this case, it was just a statement from a wannabe that Trump is in “competition”. This was not an honest journalist. Call these jackholes out.

I hate our press. They are supposed to be keeping us out of trouble, but instead they are destroying us.

    1. Old and busted: a press corps that makes sure the powerful stay nervous, in order that the people may benefit.

The new hotness: a press corps that makes sure the people stay nervous, in order that the powerful may benefit.

  5. Funny how, initially, in the very beginning, Trump was asked why we lag so far behind other countries in testing. Now that we have surpassed other countries, they ask why this is considered a “competition”. The President was justified in ending the presser.
