In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Bernie Soaring in New National Poll

Uh oh. The Democrats are doing to nominate an actual socialist.

Republicans think this is fantastic. As President Trump — and Ronald Reagan — taught Democrats, be careful what you wish for.

According to the Washington Post:

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), on the strength of his performances in Iowa and New Hampshire, has surged nationally and now holds a sizable lead over all of his rivals for the Democratic presidential nomination, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll.

Former vice president Joe Biden, who led Sanders in a Post-ABC national poll in January, has seen a sharp drop in his support after finishing fourth in the Iowa caucuses and fifth in the New Hampshire primary. Biden is now in a battle for second place with former New York mayor Mike Bloomberg and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.).

Former South Bend, Ind., mayor Pete Buttigieg, who won the state-delegate-count battle in the Iowa caucuses and came a close second to Sanders in New Hampshire, is in single digits nationally, roughly even with Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), whose surprise third-place finish in New Hampshire further scrambled the Democratic contest.

The Post-ABC poll shows Sanders, who got more votes in Iowa than any other candidate ahead of his narrow win in New Hampshire, with the support of 32 percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning registered voters. That is an increase of nine percentage points since January. He holds double-digit leads among both women and men, as well as among those who say they are certain to vote in their state’s primary or caucuses.AD

Biden, who was at 32 percent support in January, has fallen to 16 percent in the new survey.

  1. Bernie’s rising poll numbers demonstrate how very far left the Democrat party has moved compared to the D party of even 10 years ago. They are certainly not the Democrat party of Truman, JFK or even FDR. They’re flinging themselves off the cliff.

  2. He can promise everything under the sun -all for “free”, but the POTUS can’t deliver all those goodies.
Bernie’s supporters don’t seem to realize that as a US Senator he is in the exact place to make all those promises come true, but he hasn’t even tried.

  3. What’s the over/under, in minutes, on how long it takes PDJT to officially clinch 270 on Election Night?

Because if it’s 200, I’m taking the under. ESPECIALLY after that clown show of a debate last night.

And now they may end up with an unrepentant Communist at the top of the ticket? Bwahahahaha! George McGovern, call your office!
