In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

  1. Will she or won’t she? Today, or when?
MrsPelosi’s holding of the impeachment papers from the Senate is just bizarre and petty. Her gleeful admission that the purpose was to hang the sign of “Impeached” over MrTrump’s legacy and history is cruel and beyond petty.

    1. Honestly, I wish PDJT would go straight to the Supreme Court, along with that quote and a laundry list of others like it, and argue that since the House is not sending these “articles” over to the Senate, that they therefore violate the prohibition on bills of attainder.

    2. Pelosi’s sitting on the Articles of Impeachment rather than forwarding to the Senate is unusual, as you say.

My guess (worth about a nickle) is that Pelosi will release them to the Senate at a date much closer to the 2020 election day–maybe mid-summer– to create big “Impeach Trump” headlines every day until right up to election day. That would mean, come election season, we’d see the Senate tied up in the impeachment process. Trump would spend endless hours having to challenge the articles of impeachment in the middle of election season, etc. It might just be a “timing” issue for the Democrats.

      I dunno.
