As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Obamas Set to Buy $15M Martha’s Vineyard Estate

According to TMZ:

Barack and Michelle Obama may soon become Kennedy adjacent because we’ve learned they’re in escrow for a remarkable, mega-expensive, Martha’s Vineyard estate.

Multiple island sources tell us the Obamas are in escrow for the estate owned by Boston Celtics owner, Wyc Grousbeck. The former Prez and First Lady have been renting the house this summer and loved it so much, we’ve learned they made an offer. The property is listed at $14,850,000. Our sources say they’re paying less, but we don’t know how much.

The estate — incredible. It’s 29 beachfront acres. The main residence is just shy of 6,900 square feet. It has 7 bedrooms, so Sasha and Malia have a place to crash, along with several of their friends. It has the obligatory pool, an outdoor fireplace, a chef’s kitchen, vaulted ceilings and 2 guest wings. It has incredible views, especially while soaking in the second-floor balcony Jacuzzi.

As Barack Obama once said, “at a certain point, you’ve made enough money.”

But, you know, not yet.

  1. How much more American can it be for a person to come from a very humble background, become president, earn $400,000 per year for 8 years, and then retire in luxury among the wealthiest people in the country?
He’s a great role model for the minority community.

    • LOL. I’d need to know how they made all this money — or are you being sarcastic?

I’d ask, “How do two relatively untalented people become fabulously wealthy if all then had was the Presidential salary? What other sources are bank-rolling them to these heights?”

      • Very True.
“Barack Hussein Obama” = a below average, local ‘politician’ with no real ‘political record’…who became an awful President.

          • And they got $20M from Netflix for some nebulous thing such as content development. I wonder, too, when Obama refused to share the money he raised for his campaign with the Dem candidates, did he get to keep that money for himself? It seems it did not have to go to the Democrat Party, so where did it go? Into the family pocket?

  2. Off topic but about Martha’a Vineyard

Philip R. Craig was a mystery writer who used Martha’s Vineyard as the setting of his novels. I read one of his books and got hooked. Good reading. One thing I learned was there is a community of well off blacks there. When he died he left 3 complete unpublished novels to his estate.

  3. Oh boy! We cruised the New England shores & islands in June. It’s very beautiful and Expensive.
Being curious, I picked up local Southby’s local real estate books (yep, lots of huge places for sale around there). I have to say Nantucket was way more expensive than the Vineyard or Newport, even Block Island had more outrageously expensive compounds for sale.

  4. The entire house…mansion…on Martha’s Vineyard is completely white. Barry must be missing the White House, and no doubt believes he should still live there.
