In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Trump: “I Almost Got a Good Headline from the Times”

The craven New York Times caved to pressure Tuesday and changed an accurate headline about Trump’s remarks Monday into something more politically correct.

It was another sign of the decline of the media and, as Trump put it, “an astounding development in journalism.”

“Trump Urges Unity Vs. Racism,” was the unacceptable headline. It was changed to, “Assailing Hate but Not Guns.”

If Stalin said “We need more democracy and freedom,” that would be the headline. You could talk about his actual record within the story.

Journalism is supposed to be about the news and accuracy. Instead, it is now about people’s “feelings” — those of the reporters and their readers. Journalists have always been liberal and biased, but at least they once made some attempt to hide it. No more.
