In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Donald Trump, the $2.5 Billion Man

President Trump didn’t raise a lot of money last time, and he still won. This time, he’s going to rake in plenty.

According to Paul Bedard at the Washington Examiner:

Republican donor enthusiasm is reaching new levels more than a year before the presidential election, sparking wild predictions that President Trump and the Republican National Committee’s joint fundraising committee will raise more than Trump and Hillary Clinton collected in the 2016 election.

GOP fundraisers said the president could rake in $2 billion to $2.5 billion, a record amount that is double what Clinton and former President Barack Obama took in for their most recent campaigns.

It would also be four times the $600 million Trump raised in 2016.

“With that kind of money, we’ll be hard to beat,” said a Trump insider, noting that Clinton out-raised Trump in 2016 2-to-1 and still lost.

  1. I hope they spend lots of it on House races. He needs the House to solve the Immigration problem. The Democrats talk about winning the Senate to get rid of McConnell.

  2. Money, Money. President Trump doesn’t have to spend a penny on anything to secure my vote for him.
BTW, he’s absolutely right about the new, strange FOX attitudes and anti-Trump people who now have infected the formerly serious TV channel. We don’t want to see the former head of the DNC talk about anything, ever. MrWilliams hasn’t had a positive thing to say about MrTrump or his agenda, ever. Shep ?? is so obnoxiously anti-Trump that most of us quit watching his segments long ago.

    1. Donna Brazille still claims the Russians causes Hillary to lose. Judge Napolitano is another one to add to the list. I find Alan Dershowitz more reasonable.

    2. Ugh, Shep Smith and his useless show; half hour of his snarky, anti-Trump comments…the other half hour is all types of local tabloid news stories.

On weekends, who is that black woman news-reader…Arthel Neville ? She anti-Trump with her comments when she interviews guests (she is not very bright when she speaks/asks questions)

  3. So don’t watch those particular commentators. I don’t. There are plenty of other good people. I’m a huge Tucker Carlson fan – he’s really all I need to watch to get good and factual information.

  4. I’ve been watching Newsmax TV-Bret Winterble, Wayne Alan Root, Howie Carr, Joe Paggs, Chris Salcedo and a lot more and ALL of them LOVE Trump. They have guests once in a while like Bill O’Reilly. I’ve been watching FOX less and less.

      1. I tend to watch foreign news broadcasts, also–specifically France24, occasionally Sky News and one or two others. Haven’t watched US network news for years. Gave up on them when it became obvious they were propagandists for the Left. France24 gives viewers a very wide look at world news, including US news, and I’ve yet to detect a bias–right or left. Our local television news in Maine is completely anti-Republican, anti-Trump, anti-conservative and not worth 10 seconds of my time to watch. Accidents, fires and anti-Trump stories: that’s their programming agenda. Pathetic and lazy. If practicing good, solid, objective journalism was a crime, they would never get arrested.
