In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Video || Biden Opens Campaign with Attack on Trump Charlottesville Statements

So, the same guy who said during the 2012 campaign that Mitt Romney would put black people back in chains has decided on a race-baiting campaign to get himself elected.

Biden said in a video released Thursday morning that President Trump had assigned moral equivalence to the white supremacists at Charlottesville in 2017 and the protestors.

“In that moment, I knew the threat to this nation was unlike any I had ever seen in my lifetime,” Biden said. “I wrote at the time that we’re in a battle for the soul of this nation. Well, that’s even more true to today.”

Biden added that “history will look back, on four years of this president and all he embraces, as an aberrant moment in time. But if we give Donald Trump eight years in the White House, he will forever and fundamentally alter the character of this nation — who we are — and I cannot stand by and watch that happen.”

So, you know, this isn’t about him. Biden felt obligated to run. Of course.

Biden assigns heroic status to the Antifa criminals who opposed the white supremacists marching that day. And he falsely claims Trump said there were “good people” among the white supremacists. He didn’t. Trump specifically said he was not talking about white supremacists – he presumably meant those there trying to protect a Confederate statue they held as a symbol of southern pride.

Biden also is announcing as if the rest of the Democratic field doesn’t exist. By going after Trump, he’s suggesting that he already is the Democratic nominee, trying to create an air of inevitability. That will end pretty quickly.

  1. Biden is such an arrogant ass. I hope the Republicans play never ending videos of Biden groping and fondling women and little children.

    1. There’s plenty of material out there to be used, to just groping and sniffing footage, but gaffes as well. I hope Trump uses every bit of it.

  2. Harv I’m Back Sibley

Wait until the Ukraine incident rises to the top…..

And Joe, please, you had 8 years, try stacking up your accomplishments against the last two years…

Just drop out like you did in 1987 for plagiarizing

  3. Wow, he sounds and looks so old. Lots of face makeup, too.

Give it up, Joe. Go hang out with Hillary and the grandchildren.

  4. Drudge’s headline this morning has Biden beating Trump. Then again the polls had Hillary winning over Trump. I don’t want another four years of Obama.

  5. King of the Entitled Swamp rats.
Been a hack poll in D.C since before Disco was King.

Pass the popcorn, this is gonna’ be great.

  6. He fears that “..who we are..” will be changed forever if MrTrump is reelected, but that’s exactly why so many voted for him in 2016.
“..we..” didn’t like where the Dems were taking our country.

Unlike the big Repub primary lineup in 2016 that had some outstanding candidates, the Dems are looking for niche or tribal candidates who all seem to think that we want free-stuff and as many South American neighbors who manage to cross our border.

  7. Here are Trump’s original comments from April 12, 2017. NOWHERE does he call the white supremacist groups “great people.” He was referring to VETERANS. Why the GOP played defense (as usual) is beyond me. The media has blatantly lied about this for two years:

“Thank you very much. As you know, this was a small press conference, but a very important one. And it was scheduled to talk about the great things that we’re doing with the secretary on the Veterans Administration. And we will talk about that very much so in a little while. But I thought I should put out a comment as to what’s going on in Charlottesville. So, again, I want to thank everybody for being here — in particular I want to thank our incredible veterans. And thank you, fellows. Let me shake your hands. … Great people. They’re great people.

“But we’re closely following the terrible events unfolding in Charlottesville, Va.. We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides, on many sides. It’s been going on for a long time in our country. Not Donald Trump, not Barack Obama. This has been going on for a long, long time. It has no place in America. What is vital now is a swift restoration of law and order and the protection of innocent lives. No citizen should ever fear for their safety and security in our society. And no child should ever be afraid to go outside and play or be with their parents and have a good time.

“I just got off the phone with the governor of Virginia, Terry Mcauliffe, and we agree that the hate and the division must stop, and must stop right now. We have to come together as Americans with love for our nation and true — really, I say this so strongly, true affection for each other. Our country is doing very well in so many ways. We have record, just absolute record, employment. We have unemployment the lowest it’s been in almost 17 years. We have companies pouring into our country, Foxconn and car companies and so many others. They’re coming back to our country. We’re renegotiating trade deals to make them great for our country and great for the American worker. We have so many incredible things happening in our country, so when I watch Charlottesville, to me it’s very, very sad.

“I want to salute the great work of the state and local police in Virginia. Incredible people, law enforcement, incredible people. And also the National Guard. They’ve really been working smart and working hard. They’ve been doing a terrific job. Federal authorities are also providing tremendous support to the governor; he thanked me for that. And we are here to provide whatever other assistance is need. We are ready, willing and able.

“Above all else, we must remember this truth, no matter our color, creed, religion or political party, we are all Americans first. We love our country. We love our God. We love our flag. We’re proud of our country. We’re proud of who we are. So, we want to get the situation straightened out in Charlottesville, and we want to study it. And we want to see what we’re doing wrong as a country where things like this can happen. My administration is restoring the sacred bonds of loyalty between this nation and its citizens, but our citizens must also restore the bonds of trust and loyalty between one another. We must love each other, respect each other and cherish our history and our future together. So important. We have to respect each other. Ideally we have to love each other.

“And now to the Veteran’s Administration where I’m so proud of (Veterans Affairs Secretary) David Shulkin and the job you’ve done. What you’ve done in such a short period of time, I think you folks would attest to it. …”

    1. Stefan – sorry to differ, but you have the wrong speech. There was nothing about the VA or veterans.

Here is the actual speech and the very fine people are the people on both sides of the Confederate statue issue:

Q: You said there was hatred and violence on both sides?

Trump: I think there is blame on both sides. You look at both sides. I think there is blame object both on both sides. I have no doubt about it. You don’t have doubt about it either. If you reported it accurately, you would say that the neo-Nazis started this thing. They showed up in Charlottesville. Excuse me. They didn’t put themselves down as neo-Nazis. You had some very bad people in that group. You also had some very fine people on both sides. You had people in that group — excuse me, excuse me. I saw the same pictures as you did. You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down, of to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name.

George Washington was a slave owner. Was George Washington a slave owner? So will George Washington now lose his status? Are we going to take down — excuse me. Are we going to take down statues to George Washington? How about Thomas Jefferson? What do you think of Thomas Jefferson? You like him. Good. Are we going to take down his statue. He was a major slave owner. Are we going to take down his statue? It is fine. You are changing history and culture.

You had people and I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists. They should be condemned totally. You had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists. The press has treated them absolutely unfairly. Now, in the other group also, you had some fine people but you also had troublemakers and you see them come with the black outfits and with the helmets and with the baseball bats. You had a lot of bad people in the other group too.

      1. Where did you find this because whenever I searched on “Trump remarks in context Charlottsville” all I got was the usual blather about how Trump said nice things about the neo-nazis.

        1. Google “fine people” and look for Steve Cortes. Or check out Scott Adams Twitter for a pinned list articles refuting the hoax.

BTW, wiki has been corrected many time and reverted back to the anti trump racist version in minutes.

      2. I think the “fine people” were the ones who protested pro and con peaceably about the issue. There is a similar debate about a historical marker noting that a Confederate general was born in the city. Of course now there is a group that wants to tear it down. They have already vandalized it. Another group wants to keep it up since it is part of the town’s history. Of course the mayor called people who support the marker “racists” in order to whip up support for his re-election.

        1. Yes, that is what he meant — that fine people could want the statue to stay in place. You didn’t have to be a neo-nazi to want to not remove the statue.

  8. As for Biden – he should just drop out now. No way is an old, straight white guy going to get the nomination for either POTUS or VEEP. No white men allowed is the Dhimmicrap mantra.

  9. Here they go, pulling out the pages from the their cartoon book about Trump.

I have heard that “good people” slur so many times. I fear it because I know people who believe it, don’t want to hear the facts, and won’t check for themselves.

This campaign will be for them a race between Joe Biden and a cartoon of Trump.

  10. So, instead of explaining anything like a platform to describe his goals if President–economic policies, international policies, economic programs, immigration policies, etc–Biden spends his moment of glory in a nasty anti-Trump diatribe (including misquoting Trump).

This guy is a dangerous, nasty loon.
