As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

White House Quietly Working on Obamacare Replacement

Republicans on Capitol Hill are all whining that President Trump has put health care back on the table. Meantime, the MSM is saying he’s an idiot for doing it.

Well what was he going to do, cede the issue to the Democrats?

Lawmakers are all saying Trump has to come up with a plan, that they’re not going to do it. Well, according to the Washington Examiner, that’s exactly what he’s doing:

The White House is quietly working on a healthcare policy proposal to replace the Affordable Care Act, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the matter.

While it is not clear how far along the process is, work on a proposal has been going on for months. The effort appears to belie criticism that Trump’s decision to restart the debate on healthcare, an issue Democrats used to their advantage in the 2018 midterms, was an error committed without forethought.

“The White House, mainly through the National Economic Council, has been engaged on thinking about health care reform for a while now, and they have been engaged with a group of center-right health policy groups to talk about various proposals and ideas,” a conservative health policy analyst told the Washington Examiner.

The analyst said the administration has been “having conversations” on healthcare policy and has reached out to numerous think tanks, including the Heritage Foundation, the Mercatus Center, and the Hoover Institute. “They’ve had conversations for the last several months and as recently as a few weeks ago,” the analyst said. “Before the president said what he said, they’d been consistently focused on working on a healthcare plan.”

  1. It’s a smart political move for MrTrump’s campaign for 2020.
The Dems are pushing ‘Medicare for all’, so a counter is a better Obamacare.
There are millions of voters who think they are paying for the healthcare of old folks who are enjoying “free” stuff. Their thought is that they are already paying for Medicare ,s o why can’t we use that to provide health insurance for everyone.
If the Dem’s plan was to make health insurance a hated and expensive commodity, they succeeded with Obamacare. Their hope was a public outcry to make a government provided health insurance/care nationwide for all. One payer was/is the goal.

All we need to do to see how government healthcare works is to ask a Brit or a Canadian. ‘
MrTrump has some clever people working for him.

  2. If the Republicans in Congress fixed Obamacare – liked they promised to do for years and years and years – we wouldn’t be in this mess.

    Yet, here we are.

Let Trump take a crack at it. We already know Congress won’t.
