As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

Democrats Signal They Will Pack the Supreme Court

You think they’re kidding? Absolutely not.

Here’s how it happens. They win the presidency the Senate and the House. It could happen. Then they eliminate the filibuster. I’m certain they’ll do this the minute they win the Senate anyway. And then they “expand” the Supreme Court through legislation.

According to Politico:

After watching Mitch McConnell transform the judiciary over the past four years, liberals are demanding a bold response. And Democrats are listening.

Sens. Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren and Kirsten Gillibrand told POLITICO they would not rule out expanding the Supreme Court if elected president, showcasing a new level of interest in the Democratic field on an issue that has until recently remained on the fringes of debate.

The surprising openness from White House hopefuls along with other prominent Senate Democrats to making sweeping changes — from adding seats to the high court to imposing term limits on judges and more — comes as the party is eager to chip away at the GOP’s growing advantage in the courts.

The excuse they’re using is that McConnell didn’t confirm Barack Obama’s choice, Merrick Garland. Of course, that was indeed a raw political move that undermined good governance. But it’s something the Democrats would have done without a second thought, especially after Obama’s end-runs around Congress and Reid’s elimination of the filibuster for most presidential nominations.

“It’s not just about expansion, it’s about depoliticizing the Supreme Court,” said [Elizabeth] Warren (D-Mass.), who mentioned bringing appellate judges into Supreme Court cases as an option.

That’s Orwellian. Actually, court packing is solely about politicizing the Supreme Court.

It’s yet another leftist idea that seems crazy at first but gradually becomes normalized as people talk about it.

  1. From Beto to Pocahantus to Spartacus, the Dems are a terrifying lot.
The whole of the Dem message is to change the very ideals and purpose of our country into some brand-new socialist hell.

  2. It’s disheartening how ‘conservative’ sites read & sound more like commercial media as they report triumph after triumph of the ‘More Equal’ Pigs party over Americans who just ‘take it’ with an occasional exception.

  3. Liberals whine about “politicizing the Supreme Court.”

Do Robert Bork, Clarence Thomas, and Brett Kavanaugh ring any bells? Their hearings were all examples of playing politics with the Supreme Court.

“Packing the court” is just one more example of something that could have been blocked when the Republicans controlled Congress. Except that McConnell and Ryan put stopping Trump’s agenda as their priority.
