In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Democrats Can’t Even Pass a Resolution Opposing Anti-Semitism

First of all, the problem is that too many in the Democratic base are anti-Semitic, or at least anti-Israel. Yes, I do see those things as sometimes separate, unlike some other Jews.

The other problem is that Democrats value inclusivity and political correctness over anything else. Identity politics are such that every identity with a grievance is equal and must be included.

Therefore, according to Politico:

A vote on a resolution condemning anti-Semitism in response to controversial comments by Rep. Ilhan Omar is set to slip past Wednesday amid intensifying pressure from the left both inside and outside the House Democratic Caucus.

An array of progressive groups declared their support for Omar, while both the Congressional Black Caucus and Congressional Progressive Caucus — two of the most important factions among House Democrats — wanted more time to review the situation, lawmakers and aides said.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said in a closed-door meeting Tuesday that the vote would likely happen Thursday. They also said a draft resolution would be updated to include additional language rejecting anti-Muslim bias, although some Democratic sources believe that an entirely new document might be crafted.

“We’re still discussing it,” Hoyer said on Tuesday. “The sentiment is that it ought to be broad-based. What we’re against is hate, prejudice, bigotry, white supremacy, Islamophobia, and anti-Semitism.”

So they’ll pass a resolution condemning hatred of all kinds!

Next week, a resolution opposing being mean to people.

  1. Democrats do not have the gonads to censure (and possibly remove) Rep. Ilhan Omar for making statements that reinforce her anti-Semitism. They won’t name her in the resolution, and then will water it down by being anti-hate for every group (except Republicans/Conservatives).

What House representative is making hateful remarks about these other groups that are being added to the mix? Another toothless resolution. Even Steny is struggling to ‘splain things to keep the newbies happy.

  2. My father and his mates were willing to give up their lives to free the Jews from a hideous life under Nazi rule. The Jews were strangers to them, mostly not of the same religion as them, but it didn’t matter.
Hitler’s Nazis and Muslims are one and the same with their hatred of a religious group and wish them dead.
There shouldn’t be any discussion, no argument against the assertion of pro-Jew/Israel in Congress.

The Muslim woman who started all this has no idea of American values and why we even exist today. Our founding fathers made sure that religious freedom was a big part of our constitution.

  3. Why don’t they just pass a resolution condemning straight, white men since we are the source of all the problems in the country and the world? And throw in the white working class while they’re at it. Bitter clingers, etc, etc

  4. OT, sort of; we watched a Justice channel program last night about the sheriff Dept/KKK harassing & killing the “Colored” folks & white civil rights volunteers in Mississippi in the early ’60’s.
The whole sickening situation reminded me of current anti Semitism we see now with hell bent Muslims & their un American hatred of all they despise….ie, everyone not like them.

    1. IMO, it’s traditional for them.
Sadly, it wasn’t all that long ago that Jews were prevented from being club members or faced a discrimination at the workplace or even where they could live. They remember and it was the old Repubs who made this sad period for them.
Dems embraced them back when they were the ‘real’ party of the working man and the downtrodden.

      1. Well, I think it’s time for those Dems to wake up & see how much our USA has changed since JFK was the Democrat of “the people”. As much as I tried, my mom (& deceased dad) would never, ever vote any non-democrat because that was how they always voted.
I read her articles about how that party changed but she wouldn’t change her long held preference for the new socialist party.

  5. The whole “broad based” condemnation thing Hoyer mentions was first brought up by that Cortez girl the other day…once again, they’re bowing to her. Can’t wait ’til they follow her right over a cliff.

  6. Yep, don’t call out the evil one — make a general statement that implicates everyone.

Like that AfAm in the expensive white dress on the red carpet telling any interviewer that Jussi Smollett just did what we all do — lie.

Then we can all nod our heads and feel rebuked and guilty about ourselves.

  7. Here is a list of Congressman who are Jewish. As suspected almost are are Democrats. Just 2 Republicans and one Independent (Bernie who I consider as a Democrat.)

I watch European TV. Europe is seeing a growth of Anti-Semitism.

  8. The hilarious thing is by embracing Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and AOC the Democrats will be moving more and more towards supporting the Palestinians.

Tlaib and Omar support the BDS movement. Tlaib openly supports the Palestinian “right of return” which would effectively end Israel as a Jewish state.

Oh, Tlaib is NOT a good muslim since she was obviously snockered when she gave her famous “impeach the *%#$” Allah is not happy.

  9. Very sad – remember, they couldn’t even agree that infanticide should not happen. I think more moderate people would appreciate either side being reasonable about these social issues – most would give them the benefit of the doubt if they voted in favor – we would understand – honestly we would.

  10. “……the problem is that too many in the Democratic base are anti-Semitic…”

How many is too many? Is there an acceptable number? Think not.

I am at a loss for all of this anti-Semitic action by the Democrats but even more at a loss as to why there are any Jews that are Democrats…. seems to me if you are really into the Jewish faith that there is no way you could support a Democrat ever….

I get the Democrat that is a Jew… 98% Democrat.. 2% Jew sort of thing… but if you are a Jew.. a real Jew… how can you support the Democrats that are OK with letting others — including Democrats go after your religion and the nation of Israel.. you know.. the JEWISH state!

I stand with the Jews… never been one.. knew exactly ZERO Jews as a child… but seems to me you stand with those being oppressed — even if the Jewish state of Israel does a pretty good job of kicking ass to defend itself.
