Trump May Have Colluded With the Russians – About Building a Hotel!

There’s a lot of excitement in the press about the Michael Cohen plea deal, but it should be made clear that there is no suggestion at this point that President Trump is in any legal jeopardy, though he may have lied to the American people when he suggested he had avoided business dealings with the Russians.

Unfortunately, not the first fib by the First Fibber.

Cohen, Trump’s former attorney, is cooperating with special prosecutor Mueller and pleaded guilty to lying about his contacts with the Russians about building a hotel in Moscow.

And apparently, he was keeping then-candidate Donald Trump informed the whole time. Because Trump had been trying for two decades to build the damned thing.

It’s not a good idea for a presidential candidate to be dealing with a foreign power, particularly an adversary, since it could affect his policies and approach to the other country.

But building hotels is not illegal.

Let’s recap: 2016- Hillary and Friends were scarfing up millions from foreign governments to finance their questionable charity during her campaign for the presidency. According to reputable polling agencies, Hillary was going to be elected President -and by a large margin.
Friends of Hillary were hedging the election by instigating a “insurance policy” they planned to use against MrTrump-the notorious Russian dossier that cost an estimated 2 million dollars, paid for by anonymous donors.
2016- MrTrump was the definite underdog, not expected to win or even to make a good electoral showing. He had no certifiable reason to expect he would be taking the Oath of Office in 2017. He had no reason to forfeit any business arrangement that was ongoing long before he became a presidential candidate.

MrTrump is the Tiger Wood, the Sam Snead of business – he just keeps adding to his portfolio. He didn’t quit working, his people didn’t hang “closed” signs on Trump properties, and his advance teams didn’t cancel business meetings with foreign agents.
Most of the attacks or insinuations of what MrTrump or his people were doing at the time are unfair, ignorant of the time and effort it takes to deal with foreign nations. Nothing is treasonous, nothing is suspicious, major American corporations deal with foreign nations all the time.
MrTrump is unlike any President before him, and he may be the outlier for all time. He isn’t a politician, he isn’t a smooth talker, he’s a hard-working, hard-hitting businessman.

  2. “First Fibber” in caps? Seriously? I’m more concerned with fibs that affect our lives…you know, like “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan – if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.” I’m reminded of that “fib” every day. I don’t give a damn where Trump builds his hotels.

  3. I think these towers build around the world are built with money from local investors. He just puts his name on it. It is a brand name which signifies it is top quality.

    • Dumbest thing I’ve read today.
      From a Twitter comment.
“Let’s just be clear — there is now evidence that Trump was pursuing a substantial personal business relationship with our chief geopolitical foe long after he wrapped up the GOP nomination. ”
Dude, HRC while SecofState made it possible for the same “chief geopolitical foe” to buy 20% of America’s uranium.
      Remember the “Iran deal”?
      Didn’t think so.

    • John it’s called brand name signage and the firm that wants it to be “The So-and-So Building” buys it. For this reason there are a lot of buildings that don’t even have an office of that name in “their” building.

  4. I just bought a copy of Clinton Cash and I plan to use it for refreshing my memory and citing facts. I think the next wave will be some investigation into those Dem devils and I want to have facts at my fingertips for my Prog friends.

    • Are you able to have any kind discussion with a Prog? I am lucky. My next door neighbor has always voted for the Democrats. (He did not vote in 2016) He is reasonable. When Trump was elected he said well he has has 4 years let’s see what he can do.

  5. The Left has gone completely nuts! What else is there to say?

    But on another note…..

Justice acknowledged in response to a Freedom of Information request that Comey and his chief of staff discussed government business on about 1,200 pages of messages, 156 of which were obtained by The Post. On Comeys GMail!!

  6. So, let me see if I have this right.

While Trump, the candidate, was running for office, Trump, the real-estate man, was trying to keep up with his day job, in negotiating a property deal in Russia.

Why keep up with his day job so diligently, if he secretly knows that Putin is about to steal the election for him?

What would be suspicious, would be for him to have stopped working his day job when running for office–especially when Cacklepants was supposedly so “inevitable.”

The upshot is that both collusion cases cannot possibly coexist. If real estate Trump was colluding on a property deal, candidate Trump wouldn’t have been colluding on the election at the same time, or vice versa.

So, by going after the property angle, Mueller has tacitly conceded that there’s nothing he can find related to the 2016 election per se.

So, remind me…why does Mueller still have a job?
