Inside the White House: Sarah Sanders Asks for Occasional Positive Reporting

This is a video I took Monday in the briefing room at the White House. Gives you a bit of an idea what it’s like to be in the room with White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders and the reporters.

Here, she argues that the media are partially responsible for the divisions in the country and says just maybe they could occasionally say something nice about President Trump:

You guys have a huge responsibility to play in the divisive nature of this country, when 90 percent of the coverage of everything this President does is negative, despite the fact that the country is doing extremely well, despite the fact that the President is delivering on exactly what he said he was going to do if elected.  And he got elected by an overwhelming majority of 63 million Americans who came out and supported him, and wanted to see his policies enacted.

He’s delivered on that.  He’s delivered on the promises he’s made.  And, if anything, I think it is sad and divisive the way that every single thing that comes out of the media — 90 percent of what comes out of the media’s mouth is negative about this President, despite the fact that the economy is booming, despite the fact he said he would fix the trade deals.

He said he would defeat ISIS and he has.  The President has been delivering day in and day out.  And I think it would be nice if, every once and a while, we could focus on a few of the positive things the President has done, instead of just attacking him.

  1. The media will never give Trump a fair shake. He beat out the next chosen one, so they will never forgive him for that. Plus the spent all of their time writing gushy stories on Obama and kissing his ass, they have to balance off 8 years of that to get back to even.

  2. To me Tony Snow was the best Press Secretary. I thought Diana Perino did a great job. After seeing Sarah Sanders work I would put her right up there with Tony Snow.

  3. Careful what you wish for, Sarah.
The current MSM thinks a headline like this is good news: “President Trump didn’t drop any nuclear bombs on anyone. Today.”
“The President and the First Lady never argue. They are never in the same room at the same time”
“Unemployment is a the lowest level in decades and that means there are no available jobs for young people. “

  4. I was thinking about this the other day. The media HATED Nixon and succeeded in removing him by a coup d’etat via Watergate.

The media HATED Reagan and tried again with Iran-Contra but failed because the American people saw through their efforts.

Now we come to Trump. The media started attacking him before he was even sworn in as President. Now they are looking for something, anything to try and pull another coup.

Democrats don’t believe in the will of the people when it’s a President they don’t like.

    • Don’t forget GW – a lot of Dems and some MSM called him an illegitimate president because of the Florida recount (“appointed not elected”)…plus that whole Electoral College thing they hate so much.

Calling them sore losers is an understatement.

  5. Going a different way… Don’t expect anything from media… showing that you are frustrated.

Would rather she take a harsher approach… answer the stupid questions appropriately by swatting them and then continue with “….. I thought you were going to ask about the 3.4% decrease in XXXXXXX or the new trade deal with yyyyyyy where we are seeing blah blah blah…..or something…

Or stop with the press briefings in their current format….

You have to own the stage and she is playing in the old paradigm… needs to go all TRUMP on it.. and stop it somehow… really just do something different — which is more open to the public maybe… Call them Press and Public briefings…. ask people from the public to attend…whatever… clearly some of these journalists don’t know how to ask a good question… there would be a way to circumvent this… Think Trump Admn… stop getting played… it is annoying.

She is playing into them… they are never going to ask good questions….so figure out a way to change the whole game…..

I gotta do my day job and watch out for the mobs but certainly someone can figure this out pretty darn easily.
