McConnell Hangs Tough, Says Kavanaugh Will Get a Vote

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell Monday said embattled Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, who is now facing two unsupported accusations that he committed sexual misconduct decades ago, will get a vote in the Senate.

McConnell spoke on the Senate floor:

Judge Kavanaugh will be voted on here on the Senate floor, up or down. This fine nominee will receive a vote, in the Senate, in the near future. . . .

I want to be perfectly clear what is taking place. Senate Democrats and their allies are trying to destroy a man’s personal and professional life on the basis of decades-old allegations that are unsubstantiated and uncoordinated. That is where we are. This is what the so-called resistance has become. A smear campaign pure and simple, aided and abetted by members of the United States Senate.

  1. McConnell SAYS Kavanaugh will get a vote. I’ll believe it when I see it. And I think two of these four will flip, sinking the nomination: Collins, Corker, Flake, and Murkowski.

  2. Hold it Thursday as soon as the hearing is over. Enough is enough. Vote no at your peril. Conservatives see this for what it is. Anything to keep him off the bench because of Rowe vs Wade.
