Possible #MeToo Accusation Against Kavanaugh Spurs Uproar

According to Fox News:

“I have received information from an individual concerning the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court,” Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., said in her surprise statement. “That individual strongly requested confidentiality, declined to come forward or press the matter further, and I have honored that decision. I have, however, referred the matter to federal investigative authorities.”

A spokesperson for Feinstein declined Fox News’ request to elaborate on the lawmaker’s statement, but there has been much speculation that she is referring to a secret letter that has been the subject of intrigue on Capitol Hill over the last few days. A source familiar with the confirmation proceedings told Fox News that Feinstein received the letter back in July, but did not make its existence known publicly until Thursday.

According to a report by The Intercept, the letter was relayed to lawmakers by an individual affiliated with Stanford University and concerns an incident involving the 53-year-old Kavanaugh and a woman while they were in high school. According to two officials who spoke anonymously with the New York Times, the incident involved possible sexual misconduct between Kavanaugh and the woman.

The letter reportedly was given to Feinstein by Rep. Anna Eshoo, D-Calif., but has not been publicly disclosed by senators who have seen the document. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., said that the letter in question has been referred to the FBI for investigation.

    • For the same reason NBC held over the Billy Bush tapes in 2016. Sent

And the same reason Dan Rather held over “fake but accurate” until the eleventh hour in 2004.

And the same reason they waited until the last minute to report W.’s drunk driving arrest back in the 2000 campaign.

And the same reason they indicted Weinberger in the summer of 1992.

And the same reason Mother Jones held over the “47 percent” tape for four months in 2012.

  1. A letter from a person ‘affiliated’ with Stanford U. given to lawmakers who then gave it to Feinstein back in JULY. And the media knows this because, two ‘unnamed’ officials have knowledge of a ‘secret’ letter written by an ‘anonymous’ source who wants to retain ‘confidentiality’, for a claimed ‘possible’ sexual misconduct when Kavanaugh was in High School, 37 yrs ago.
No need to Fact Check this one. It’s solid.

  2. High school?! Are they really that desperate? At least w/ Clarence Thomas they had a woman he had worked with who sort of had a credible accusation against him (other than the fact she followed him from job to job when they both worked for the EEOC).

It’s time for Mitch McConnell and Grassley to end this nonsense and go to a final confirmation vote. This has become a farce.

  3. I know for a fact that someone knew something through another person that this incident happened exactly the way someone else who wasn’t there said it happened. By the way, it was 37 years ago. What a joke.

  4. I’m MUCH more interested in Feinstein’s Chinese connections for the past many years. Not only did she have a Chinese spy on her staff for TWENTY years, but she and her husband made jillions of $ creating these peculiar business relationships with the Chinese government and businesses.

So far–no investigation, bare minimum media coverage, “Move on, nothing to see here, folks”. Who’s covering this up for her? Is someone being paid off to keep this all quiet? Blackmail involved? Corrupt to the core.

  5. Well, since the Halloween decorations are already up at Wal-Mart, let me give you guys the biggest scare of the season.

You sitting down? Haven’t had too much caffeine in the past hour? Okay, read on, then, but don’t say I didn’t warn you:

If they’re this unhinged now, try to imagine how they’ll act when PDJT nominates the replacement for Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

    • Yep, they’ll go nuts no doubt. I heard Ginsberg on the radio today trying to explain her position on something or other. It was beyond sad to hear her try to express her thoughts and reasoning. Long past time for her to retire.

  6. Kavanaugh #metoo going back 37 years? Sounds like McCarthyism “I have a list of Communists in the State Dept”.
Must be statute of limitations on teen growing up antics.

  7. You know… back in 1973 I dated a girl, one date… whose name I cannot recall. This person approached me recently in a restaurant and said, you kissed me in high school. Do you know me? I was clueless. We both got a chuckle out of it, caught up with each other and our families… it was a good laugh.

Our country needs a good laugh too.
