Ruth Bader Ginsburg: I Think I’ll Serve at Least Five More Years

Uhh boy. She’s probably right. I think she’s indestructible.

“I’m now 85,” Ginsburg said on Sunday. “My senior colleague, Justice John Paul Stevens, he stepped down when he was 90, so think I have about at least five more years.”

She’s put her money where her medications are by hiring law clerks through 2020.

NO, I DON’T WANT HER TO DIE. I just want her to take up stamp collecting.

I’d say this is a message to voters that her seat will be an issue during the next presidential election, since whoever wins will get to replace her. But I believe the notorious RBG is all about RBG. If she cared more about the issues, she might have retired under Obama and let him choose her replacement. But that apparently was too much of a sacrifice for the cause.

  1. It’s not like the Supremes are out digging ditches for a living … all they have to do is read what the clerks have written (they do the heavy lifting) and nod “Yes” or “No.” Not exactly arduous.

  2. Well, Ruthie dear, it’s not wise to tempt fate or to make claims of immortality.
Most of us ‘seniors’ are grateful for today’s morning sun and hope to see it tomorrow, too.
    Good luck.

  3. Sure she’s a doddering old bag, but by cracky, she’s going to stay in that seat until she grows moldy, just so’s DJT can’t appoint someone who still has some brain cells left.
No THAT’s what I call service to the country.
