Schumer Tells Trump to Nominate Merrick Garland

Now this is amusing. From the Washington Post:

Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) privately urged President Trump in a phone call earlier this week to nominate federal Judge Merrick B. Garland, then President Barack Obama’s third nominee to the Supreme Court who was summarily shunned by Senate Republicans in 2016, to replace retiring Justice Anthony M. Kennedy.

Trump had called Schumer on Tuesday afternoon for a Supreme Court-centered conversation that lasted less than five minutes, according to a person familiar with the call. Schumer, the person said, pressed the president to name Garland to succeed Kennedy, arguing doing so would help unite the country.

Unite the country? I don’t think so.

This is Chuck’s plan to keep every Republican home on Election Day 2018 and 2020. That the phone call lasted less than five minutes, I assume, is a sign Trump got a good laugh over this and went on to the next thing.

All of this, of course, presupposes that Schumer isn’t in the early stages of dementia, which if he is, certainly would not be a laughing matter.

  1. Here’s the official SCOTUS blog on Merrick B. Garland. He seems to be a more or less moderate type, politically. His problem is that he is pushed by Schumer who is the KIss of Death for anything he touches. If Schumer is peddling Garland, then that’s an automatic NO for me. I wouldn’t let trust Schumer to walk my dog around the block.

It’s an interesting read, at any rate. And who knows what Trump might do?

  2. Well, it is not only Senator Chuck-you Schumer/Shyster that has the audacity to suggest a nominee. But, also Senator Ly’in Ted Cruz, who also vailed a threat that President Donald John Trumps nominee’s will not have it so easy of a time. Ly’in Ted Cruz suggested Senator Mike Lee of Utah. See:

To be very frank, honest and forward about this, I still do not TRUST Senator Ted Cruz. Why? Thank you for asking. I remember the shenanigans that he pulled during the 2016 Republican National Convention. His failure to indorse the Presidential candidate Donald John Trump was an unconscionable act and deed. Why? He said he would, and when given center stage at the Convention, he did not do what he said he was going to do.

That is a broken promise! When anyone breaks their word, especially one that occupies an OFFICE OF TRUST then their word has become worthless for their failure to keep their promise. Make no mistake about this, that is BREACH OF TRUST. A very serious crime, as great as a Malfeasance and perhaps even a Nonfeasance! The man proved himself UNTRUSTWORTHY. So also is Senator Chuck-you Schumer for various other reasons.

Nevertheless, I think that Donald John Trump knows exactly who will be the best fit for the Supreme Court. He knows the kind of personality, record and character that the Supreme Court needs to Make America Great Again. Unlike Chuck-you Schumer and Ly’in Ted Cruz, President Trumps does keep his word. He has done that, and there is no reason for him to stop doing that.

    Epilogue:
The Supreme Court needs to be cleaned up and out of the Social-Marxist influence of the left. The two biggest contributors to that folly are Social-Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, and Social-Justice Sonia Sotomayor. Both of these characters must go as proven by their lack of love for the laws of this nation in the recent Cake Baker’s decision. The Court voted 7-2 and both Ginsberg and Sotomayor’s decision were not based upon the law, and that was noted by the Court as their dissenting opinions were not based upon Law. Shame on these two manipulators but, thank you for revealing your true motives and intent to destroy America. Don’t worry, you will not succeed.

  3. this is the guy that said it was like negotiating with jello when he met the president on daca…then schumer shut the government down and got his a$$ handed to him. i imagine when schumer mentioned garland, the president broke out in uncontrollable laughter and his secretary had to end the call.
