In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

CNN Reporter: Russia is “All We Talk About” and Voters Don’t Care

CNN reporter Maeve Reston said Sunday that while CNN focuses relentlessly on the Russia investigation, voters actually don’t care about it, and it doesn’t appear to be casting a cloud over President Trump or having an effect on the 2018 House races.

Moreover, she notes that “uneasiness about the economy” has begun to dissipate.

Of course, as we know, the economy is something voters always do care about.

And I think that what’s going to be so interesting to watch this year, one of the things that I’m most excited talking to voters about is you are starting to see that uneasiness about the economy sort of dissipate. Remember, even in 2016 when we went out to the swing states and talked to voters there was still this fear that things were suddenly going to turn down again. You don’t feel that as much any more.

And I’m so interested to see how the Russia investigation affects things because so far out in these districts when you talk to people about Russia, and that’s all we talk about at CNN basically, they say they don’t care. It doesn’t have any effect on their lives.

So what is that turning point at which that really becomes an election issue, does it cast a cloud over Trump? Does it really affect these house races? I don’t think that we’re seeing that quite yet and it will be really interesting to watch.

  1. Isn’t she sly and clever, maybe too clever. CNN wants to leave the Russia, Russia theme because of the MEMO! The MEMO that will put the lie to the whole thing, that will expose the Dems and their attempts to subvert the Repub candidate with illegal wiretaps and who knows what else.
If we are to believe those in government who have seen the MEMO and understand what it meant, then many individuals who have been desperately trying to force MrTrump out of office are about to feel the weight of justice.
No matter what they tried, what lies or spin of innuendo, we are still on the Trump train.
No fake Russian intrigue, no sexy bimbo’s rants, no ridiculous charges of a billionaire lining his pockets with government funds, no charges of mental disability are going to change what is happening around the country.
Give it up, CNN, et al. You lost.

  2. OT: Kevin Williamson of Nat’l Review
I don’t do FB, so I can’t comment on his latest opinion piece about S.Bannon at Nat’l Review.
    Here it is:
This is a envy-tinged, profane and superficial attempt to hurt S.Bannon and everyone around him by a never-Trump loser.
Whatever Williamson thinks of Bannon’s place in history, it is much more than he will ever be.

  3. For the anti-Trump fanatics in the corporate media and Congress, the “Russian investigation” is like cocaine. They are constantly looking for their next hit, their next high. No amount of logic or lack of evidence will dissuade them from conniving for their next dose. It’s a sad sight to witness. They are completely detached from reality and we can all see it.
