In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

  1. It’s wonderful that the code talkers are being honoured. I remember watching “Windtalkers”, the movie about them, produced in 2002. It was an excellent film.

  2. News from the SouthWest: Some Navajo tribes in Arizona, Utah, and N.Mexico are finally getting electricity on the reservations. Imagine that – 2017- and they are still living in the dark.
Some of the tribes live near existing power lines, but electric companies insist that they pay for any extension onto the reservations.

If any group has a real grievance, it has to be them. Modern life has passed them by, granted by their own choice, but electricity?
Major MSM worries that Puerto Rico residents can’t get their power back soon enough, when we have other Americans who have never had this most basic of modern advances.

No doubt, one or more of those honored tonight will advise the President of their plight.

    1. Wait, you are upset that they haven’t had power because they didn’t want it?
Have you ever been there, know how to get there? Probably not, it’s better that way.
This is how federal overreach gives the illusion of superiority and deciding “whats best” over local lands from people who have never even been there.

But regardless, we are sure blessed to have had the Navajo, for their language and ways of life. It has saved our nation in more ways than one.
