Trump Backers Explain to the Media Why They are Still Trump Backers

As usual, “flyover country” gets what the Coasts cannot comprehend:

That little of significance has come out to suggest any kind of actual collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, and that the media are perversely obsessed with the issue. And that meantime, the actual things Trump is doing are barely getting covered, unless one wants to include the media delighting in the failure so far to pass Obamacare repeal.

  1. OT: Looks like the MSM is still in “time out” and won’t be allowed to perform in front of the TV cameras during the WH briefing until they quit acting-out. awww.

Why Trump? Hillary had it right – we’re deplorables. We don’t think men should be allowed to don a dress to gain access to the girl’s restroom, we think illegal aliens means that a crime was committed, we don’t want the government running our health care, we don’t want the government ruining everything we hold in esteem, and we don’t want racism, sexism,-phobe to be the only criteria for anything.

  2. And of course, in everything the MSM does, there is always a tinge of condescension (sometimes more than a twinge) as if to say — how could you possibly understand/know more about this issue that we in the media?

  3. For the record.
I stood with now PDJT during the primaries and during the election.
My trust and support is unwavering.
    The RNC? Bugger off.
No more money from me to them.
When the Republicans start supporting PDJT and his agenda, I’ll start supporting the RNC.

    • Great post, my feelings as well.
RNC hidden agenda is to do nothing on Healthcare and to support the insurance industry.
We the peeps do not count. We are the serfs to be used and abused.

  4. I went from a ‘at least he’s better than Clinton’ supporter of Trump to a hardcore one, now.

And the media – and the left (but I repeat myself) – has nobody to blame but themselves.

  5. Let’s not forget this: Harvard University’s Kennedy School’s Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy recently released a study of the media’s treatment of Trump during his first hundred days in office. The report is extremely revealing as to the corporate media’s bigotry toward Trump and the data analysis is fascinating.

    From the report:

–President Trump dominated media coverage in the outlets and programs analyzed, with Trump being the topic of 41 percent of all news stories—three times the amount of coverage received by previous presidents.

–Trump has received unsparing coverage for most weeks of his presidency, without a single major topic where Trump’s coverage, on balance, was more positive than negative, setting a new standard for unfavorable press coverage of a president.

One chart in the report shows that Obama got 41 percent negative coverage compared to Trump’s 80 percent negative coverage. That tells you all you need to know about the media. Other charts, data and conclusions are just as revealing as to the coverage Trump has received. Media coverage of Trump is a catastrophe.

So keep all that in mind as we learn of the new poll conducted by the NBC News-Wall Street Journal and being reported today. Juxtapose the Harvard study and the NBC News-Wall Street Journal poll on the public perception of Trump.

This is what we have: representatives of the very corporate media who attack Trump non-stop are now crowing, in their very own poll, about Trump’s low ratings and telling us how “shocking” these results are.

Again, the very media outlets who have conducted this non-stop war against Trump and are telling their readers/viewers–literally non-stop– how awful Trump is, now release THEIR very own poll showing Trump’s low ratings. And they have the incredible audacity to pretend and ignore the fact that their very own corrupt, politically-biased, unethical coverage of Trump is what created this low rating of Trump. What are they teaching in journalism schools these days? Ethical and professional behavior is certainly not part of the curriculum.

And the media does not yet understand that we are NOT watching and listening to them in record numbers BECAUSE we see this media bigotry clearly and we have concluded they are being willingly corrupt. Currently, the little or no trust rating of the media is at 80 percent. And they obviously don’t care. They act more like members of a, evil, nasty cult than journalists.

      • Yep, they oversampled Democrats by about 5.7 percent, on average, (some polls were as high as 10 percent oversampling Democrats) so I have read. If these pollsters didn’t produce skewed results, they might have some credibility.

  6. Can someone provide a succinct list of Trump’s accomplishments while in office.

I can think of three, but would like a better list to answer the question Keith suggests in his post…

    1. Aggressiveness on illegal immigration
    2. Attempts to improve vetting immigration from risky countries (arguably, he hasn’t yet succeeded, but I would still give him credit for his efforts)
    3. Exiting from the Paris climate agreement
