He Did It Before! Lewis Boycotted Bush’s Inauguration Too

According to the Washington Examiner:

It’s a free country, and the nineteen (and counting) members of Congress who are planning to boycott President-elect Trump’s inauguration are certainly within their rights. So even is Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., who said over the weekend that Trump’s election (or his presidency) is “illegitimate.”

That doesn’t make his comment true or honorable or helpful to the nation’s well-being, but he is free to say it.

Reps. Lewis, Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., Barbara Lee, D-Calif., Katherine Clark, D-Mass., and the other inaugural boycotters are certainly not alone in finding Trump uniquely awful. They are not alone in believing the president-elect has gone out of his way to offend people. Probably they also recognize that, in the safe districts they all represent, an inaugural boycott might even be a political winner.

But this is also part of a pattern. Lewis and Lee, along with some other Democratic lawmakers at the time, also boycotted to make a point when President George W. Bush was inaugurated in 2001. The Washington Post reported at the time that Lewis “thought it would be hypocritical to attend Bush’s swearing-in because he doesn’t believe Bush is the true elected president.”

  1. It’s probably a good time to remind ourselves that Reps. Lewis, Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., Barbara Lee, D-Calif., are all active and avowed members of the Democrat Socialists of America– the U.S. affiliate of the Socialist International in the US Congress. So, no surprise with their adolescent rebellion re Trump’s inauguration, is there? They are following the orders of their masters.

Here’s a site listing all the members of the Democrat Socialists in the US Congress (as of the 111th Congress) as well as a quick look at what their true goals are as they serve in the Congress. All paid for by the US taxpayer, of course.

  2. I don’t know who lives where but a friend of mine said that the vile potentially violent property destroyers were already setting up and positioning in WDC. Some police milled about, but some even helped. Doesn’t look like we can expect too much from the DC Police — no real surprise there. Especially with Lewis and all his black Congresscritters joining the boycott.

WOW — what a bunch of whiners. But worries me most is all the news about the violence these people are planning and who is doing what to stop them.

Plus the vile threats, actual death threats to some, to entertainers and the like. Again, WOW.

And I will say this — thank you Barack Obama for encouraging this racial division and supporting agitation that might just as well be anarchy and insurrection. Protests my a**.

  3. Shows what? Manly leadership? Don’t like something, just walk out. I would think acting the jerk, closes doors, that have not been opened. As well minorities chief complaint has been “exclusion.” But self-exclusion, is not inclusion. Because you can’t walk out of someplace you’re not in? So Rep John Lewis been in Washington DC for a long time, Right? And this is the best leadership he can come up with? The Black Caucus shoots itself in the foot. They would rather sit out back under the old oak tree, bitching and complaining? Will someone send some adults to Washington? Soon!

  4. These are the same ones who decried the election, saying Trump MUST be a president for ALL people. Now they are shown to be legislators for SOME of the people.

  5. All of those who are boycotting are insignificant and hopefully will be replaced when their term is up! The people have spoken and realized the outgoing democratic president and his democratic gremlins failed them over the past eight years! Bottom line, whether they like it or not, Trump WILL be the president for ALL!

  6. Lewis and everybody who is boycotting this administration will be there to sweep up the mess this abomination of an administration is creating… already. Good to look forward to war with China. Especially since they own a good portion of us. And similarly the 2000 election was handled very poorly. Supreme Court is not supposed to elect presidents.
