In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

I like that he’s already acting like the president. Probably pisses off Obama.

    1. PresObama has been in a veritable snit since MrTrump won the election.
IMO, his plan to stay in DC was to enable him to still be part of the action at the White House.
Now? He’s stuck there and he will be the one waiting on the side of the road as the President’s motorcade drives by…ha ha.

  1. “My prayer”
    A wonderful presentation to America.
If it was Barry, it would have been, “me, I, me, me, I, I.
God bless each and everyone at WHD! Keith, a special thanks to you for all the outstanding work on keeping us informed.

    1. Well said. Double triple that from the Old Goat.. A truly truthful, trusting thanksgiving. It is not how far we have come, or how much we have, it is where we are going.

  2. Happy Thanksgiving to Keith, his family, and to all who post their informative, sensible and stirring comments on this most excellent site. Americans have much to be thankful for, this year especially!

  3. I think that is a better thing than thanksgiving: thanks-living. How is this to be done? By a general cheerfulness of manner, by an obedience to the command of Him by whose mercy we live, by a perpetual, constant delighting of ourselves in the Lord, and by a submission of our desires to His will.
    Charles Spurgeon

  4. From George Washington’s Proclamation of a Day Of National Thanksgiving–the beginning of Thanksgiving as a national holiday–October 3, 1789:

“Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and

Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me “to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:”

    Washington’s full Proclamation here:

  5. And from Abraham Lincoln’s Thanksgiving Proclamation, October 20, 1864.

“Now, therefore, I, Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States, do hereby appoint and set apart the last Thursday in November next as a day which I desire to be observed by all my fellow-citizens, wherever they may then be, as a day of thanksgiving and praise to Almighty God, the beneficent Creator and Ruler of the Universe. And I do further recommend to my fellow-citizens aforesaid that on that occasion they do reverently humble themselves in the dust and from thence offer up penitent and fervent prayers and supplications to the Great Disposer of Events for a return of the inestimable blessings of peace, union, and harmony throughout the land which it has pleased Him to assign as a dwelling place for ourselves and for our posterity throughout all generations.”

  6. Yes, wonderful example of budding LEADERSHIP here. If you remember, during this period in 2008 o’blamo was touring around with a big sticker on his podiums, made to look like the Presidential Seal but worded carefully as “President Elect”….. Anything to pump up his ego. We are thankful today that America is on the Right track.

    1. I remember that.
What the hell is the “Office of The President-Elect”?
I’ve voted in many a presidential election and don’t recall any winner doing that.
That should have been my first clue about his ego.

  7. Happy Thanksgiving to Keith, all his readers and all of you contributors. May you have a safe and healthy year ahead of you. Very Best. Mark

  8. Obama looks and sounds very small compared to our newly elected President Donald J Trump.

I wish for him and his family a very happy Thanksgiving holiday although I have a feeling he is not sitting around doing nothing today.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of the people who faithfully come to this website daily -I consider you to be my friends.

  9. WOW-Daily Mail just put up an article on Trump’s Palm Beach home along with some very nice photos of the inside. Obama must be seething with envy.
