As of now, I am in control here, in the White House

A man grabbed a female Chicago police officer by the hair and wouldn’t let go, slamming her to the ground and endangering her life. High on PCP, he failed to succumb to numerous attempts to tase him.

The officer, Veronica Murillo, indicated that she did not use her gun because she did not want to become the next cop vilified for shooting a black man. Her assailant was unarmed, but clearly could have killed her.

From a local news report:

“She thought she was going to die. She knew that she should shoot this guy, but she chose not to, because she didn’t want her family or the department to have to go through the scrutiny the next day on national news,” Supt. Johnson said.

After Huff was finally subdued, the tactical officer’s body camera caught a telling exchange with firefighters that shows how attitudes about deadly force have been impacted by cameras.

“Were you with her?” a firefighter asked.

“Yea I got tased a bunch of times,” said the tactical officer wearing the body camera. “I was the first one here wrestling with him.”

“Couple months ago you could have shot him,” the firefighter said, half chuckling about it before telling the officer they would fix him up.

Officer Murillo was hospitalized with head and neck injuries and as of Thursday night, was still in the hospital.

Huff was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault and was ordered held without bail.

Not only are police officers’ lives in danger because of the Obama-backed outrage over rare unnecessary police shootings, but your life is in danger too. Especially if you are black and live in the inner city.

  1. You’re preaching to the choir, Brother.
There was a time when policemen were chastised for using their fists, or truncheons to subdue out of control citizens. So, they moved on to neck holds, but when a few went bad, they abandoned that tactic. Tasers appeared, but there was no way to tell if a criminal had a heart condition, so they aren’t they answer either.
All that was left was the gun and the bullets.
Now, our first responders are afraid of being arrested for ‘whatever they charge’, or of being held to a standard that won’t meet the actual event.
We should expect the police to abandon the inner city ghettos, or any crime-ridden area and let the residents shoot it out with each other.
The Wild West comes to the city.

      • My frustration with this “liberal utopia” makes me want to agree with you. But the truth is that the majority of citizens even in these areas are good people. Solutions are hard to come by, but I don’t think anything will work without the simple act of saying “no” to liberals.

    • We already have that in Baltimore. If not for the University of Maryland’s Shock Trauma Unit, homicides would be in the 4 hundreds range.

    • He owns this…and he loves this. He wants the police to stand down, and he wants criminals to roam free. He’s emptying the prisons as much as he can before January.

  2. Looks like Obama’s constant attacks on The Thin Blue Line has come to fruition, with the full cooperation of the press, of course. Mocking the police, shaming them, sending out messages they are evil, Obama hasn’t missed a trick to humiliate and neuter them.

  3. Understand Obama and family will live in the DC area after they leave free housing. Probably too dangerous to live back in Chicago. SS detail would have to double up.

  4. ROE ladies and gentleman.
    I’m a redneck from Ohio.
He has the cop by her hair and will not release her even after numerous officers are on the scene.
    I would have shot him.
But then, I’m just a redneck.
