      Oh, of course he will. Barry and the Mooch surely won’t pass up their last opportunity to spend two to three weeks in Hawaii with all the trappings of POTUS and FLOTUS.

      Remember how they had to go to Hawaii when he was President-elect? What a joke that was. As if they ever spent Christmas and New Year’s in Hawaii when he was a Senator. They just couldn’t wait to go on an extended luxurious trip as the newly anointed king and queen.

      What I would really like to see, but know will never happen, is for the media to question why they have to go on a final vacation only weeks before he leaves office and is on a permanent vacation. Every Hawaiian cation they go on costs the taxpayers millions of dollars. If they go this year, it will probably be the only time a president goes on vacation only weeks before Inauguration Day.

        The excuse will be that they have to go then on taxpayer money, because that’s when youngest daughter is off from school. That’s my guess.

        I wonder if Obama will even show up for the Inauguration Day…? Dear Leader Obama is that bitter, arrogant & self-centered that he would never attend such a historic moment that is not about him.

        I bet Flotus Wookie Michelle skips the ceremonies and will have some excuse about taking care of the kids.

          Ha. My husband and I have a bet about this. He thinks that if Trump wins, Moochelle will stay in Hawaii and skip the Inauguration. As much as she would like to do it, I don’t think she’ll be able to get away with that.

    I’ve thought about Mooch’s stupid garden, (photo op/publicity vehicle), a few times and hoped the next President would get rid of it because it is definitely not cost effective. The National Park Service is tasked with maintaining the garden. They claim some of the produce is used at WH meals, but the vast majority of it is donated. It would be cheaper to just write a check to the soup kitchens than invest all this time and work into the garden.

    Well, Moochelle just made a big move today to ensure her pet project isn’t obliterated. I guess the good news is that they seem to think that TRUMP will be our next POTUS. But, really, she has some freaking nerve doing all this right before they leave the WH:

    First lady Michelle Obama is making sure that whoever inhabits the White House next doesn’t rip out her iconic vegetable garden — at least not without a big fuss.

    On Wednesday afternoon, Obama unveiled a much bigger version of the garden, which uses concrete, stone and steel to make it a more permanent fixture on the South Lawn. The updates are seen not just as preserving Obama’s garden — recognized globally as a symbol of local food — but also as a way to dissuade, say, a President Donald Trump from scrapping it the way Ronald Reagan tore out Jimmy Carter’s solar panels after he moved into the White House.

    “I take great pride in knowing that this little garden will live on as a symbol of the hopes and dreams we all hold of growing a healthier nation for our children,” Obama said in an emotional speech Wednesday afternoon as she dedicated the garden before an audience of advocates, food industry leaders and others who have helped with Let’s Move!, her signature childhood obesity campaign.

    “I am hopeful that future first families will cherish this garden like we have,” she added.

    During a background briefing on the garden changes, White House officials were peppered with questions about whether the preservation actually prevents a future president from removing the legacy plot.

    The short answer is no. “It is up to the next administration how they would like to manage the garden,” a White House official said, declining to answer the question directly. “The National Park Service will continue to maintain it.”

    Neither presidential candidate, nor their spouses, have offered any indication of their intentions about the garden.

    With all the uncertainty, however, it’s clear that the latest iteration of the first lady’s vegetable garden is built to last. Sawdust pathways have been widened and replaced with blue stone. The garden features a large new, stone-paved seating area and a prominent archway, cemented into the lawn.

    Underneath, a large paving stone carries an inscription: “WHITE HOUSE KITCHEN GARDEN, established in 2009 by First Lady Michelle Obama with the hope of growing a healthier nation for our children.”

    The White House noted that the new structures incorporate both wood, chosen for “durability,” and steel — “combined to make the elements stronger bonded together than when they stand alone.” The wood includes pine and walnut harvested from the estates of founding fathers Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe and the birthplace of Martin Luther King Jr.

    None of these changes, however, preclude the next administration from nixing the garden. It is the president’s home and he or she can do whatever their family wishes, in consultation with the Secret Service, the National Park Service and the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts — and plenty of changes have been made over the years.

      Snark, I love gardening myself so maybe I am not neutral here. I think it is a fine idea with a kitchen garden in the White House. Cost effective, maybe not, but there is some fine symbolism in it. I am all for homegrown organic food. The garden looked lovely in the pictures but I am sure that Michelle O is most interested in the inscription on the stone : ” established by First Lady Michelle Obama”. I don´t see her as a gardener at all. For her it is probably a vanity project. But, please, keep the garden. No golf greens please. Golf greens are green deserts. What happened to the bee hives ?

      On the White House garden tale, you may remember that it was discovered that Michelle’s WH “garden” was found to contain 93 ppm of lead (likely from the wash off of the old lead roof slates), or almost twice the CDC safe level for gardens (50 ppm). A simple soil test before planting would have revealed the toxic lead levels in Michelle’s garden, so obviously that wasn’t done.

      After the toxic levels were discovered, I remember the lefty press (the Huffington Post, in particular) went into hysterical mode defending Michelle, claiming “everybody’s” garden had at least that much lead contamination so what was the big deal yada yada yada. Complete nonsense, of course. Better to take the CDC’s word for it than some hack liberal rag.
      Anyway, as a certified master gardener, I got a big chuckle of the whole stupid WH garden story and thought, “they plant gardens in the same ignorant ways they govern” Question: does possible lead poisoning help explain the insane political behavior of the residents and employees of the Obama White House?

    MrTrump will be in Ambridge, Pa next Monday. He will be having a rally at the Ambridge High school.
    I lived there for two years, nice blue-collar town named after the steel company located there – American Bridge.
    Every ethnic group on the planet ,every ‘real’ racial group, and every religious gathering known to civilized people lives there in a guarded harmony.
    This is Trump Country even though most people are still registered Dems – going back to when the majority of workers were union.
    Old friends and family tell me they “can’t wait” and are excited to see MrTrump.

      My father’s family immigrated and settled in Ambridge when he was 13. Have lots of family in the area. We were military and I wasn’t raised there, but it is always home.

      Ambridge has gone through some tough times. My father would have been thrilled to have Trump visit Ambridge.

      Steel mills and coal mines — that’s where we started. Hard work. Lots of Slovaks, Poles and Eastern Europeans is what I know. And religious — including the Orthodox.

    Caution White House security alert. Pittsburgh Penguins will be on property today. Lets all be on high alert for infiltrators! As Penguins all look and act the same, they may use this opportunity to “blend in” with White House staff,including west wing, which is the wing closest to San Francisco. As noted in our official agents handbook, page #1 “the difficulties of ID’ing liberals and penguins!”

      Yes, the WH had claimed that Obummer cleared his fall schedule and would be campaigning hard for Shrillary in September, and especially in October. So far, he really hasn’t done much.

      He was supposed to have a rally for her in Miami yesterday, but that was postponed due to the hurricane. I heard he’s going to NC next week. Moochelle just did two rallies there on Tuesday, in Charlotte and Raleigh.

      I saw a tweet by Mark Knoller the other day that the WH said Obummer will be campaigning for Shrillary at least twice a week now, except not this week apparently. There are only four weeks left, so we’ll see.
