In the history of mankind, many republics have risen, have flourished for a less or greater time, and then have fallen because their citizens lost the power of governing themselves and thereby of governing their state. TR

Video || Michelle: “I Trust Hillary”

Well okay, but, like, a lot people don’t. AND FOR VERY GOOD REASON.

She also says Hillary has been doing “thankless work.” Seems to me Hillary’s been thanked pretty heftily.

I will say, though, disagree as a might, Michelle rocked it.

  1. One good speech. Over 8 years of lies and snubs and sneers and belittling the country and its citizens.

This just shows how far we have fallen.

    1. I still can’t forgive the “house built by slaves” lie that is let to linger as truth. Yes, there was slave labor used, and it was a terrible time but that WAS the historical time.
Where’s the mention of Jefferson’s anti-slavery passage in the Declaration of Independence struck for the sake of the strength of unity against Britain at least starting on the road to ending slavery?
Or the 3/5s clause that actually lowered the political power of the southern states? Or the 1808 clause in the Constitution?
Without the compromises that held the union together in those early days the Revolution would have failed and the greatest force for freedom the human race has ever known would never have existed and there would be no convention for Michelle to speak at.
Sorry for the rant but this whole constant dwelling on how America was founded on evil and still must pay for past sins committed by only a small fraction of today’s ancestors not only gets old it solves nothing and only divides us further.

      1. A quick look at Michelle’s Senior thesis reveals (as if we didn’t know) that she has played the race card since her early years and for her entire adult life. That’s who she is. That’s her limited, pathetic world view. She’ll never change, as evidenced by her racist speech last night. It’s been permanently hammered into her brain.

        Examples from her Thesis:
“At the same time , however, it is conceivable that my four years of exposure to a predominately White, Ivy League
University has instilled within me certain conservative values.” Really?

“Stokely Carmichael and Charles Hamilton’s (1967) developed definitions of separationism in their discussion of Black Power which guided me in the formulation and use of this concept in the study.” Stokely Carmichael? Really? The very same Stokely Carmichael whose criminal Black Power activities leads directly to the Black Lives Matter racist activities? Yes, the very same.

“Elements of Black culture which make it unique from White culture such as its music,
its language, the struggles and a consciousness” shared by its people may be attributed to the injustices and oppres-
sions suffered by this race of people….”

“However, with the increasing integration of Blacks into the mainstream society, many “integrated Blacks” have lost touch with the Black culture in their attempts to become adjusted and comfortable in their
new culture–the White culture. Some of these Blacks are no longer able to enjoy the qualities which make Black culture so unique or are unable to openly share their culture with other Blacks because they have become so far removed from these experiences and, in some instances, ashamed of them as a result of their integration.” Yea, this integration stuff has caused great has to the Black community, so saith Michelle.

There are pages and pages of this stuff in her thesis. Summary: America is a racist, evil country, and Blacks have carried the full burden and still do. Hence her speech last night.

She hasn’t learned anything or grown up intellectually since she was at Princeton. Boy, did Princeton do a job on her.

        1. Isn’t it amazing how so many are so privileged to attend this nation’s highest bastions of intellectualism yet come away as stupid in real knowledge and history than the Kardashian brains that vote for them.

          1. For some, the more powerful and richer they become (particularly if they are carried on the shoulders of others and didn’t have to put in much effort in the enterprise) the nastier and less informed they become.

Interesting note: Michelle never mentions “American culture” or words thereto. It’s always “White culture”, which she expresses with a hiss and a snarl. That’s an X-ray into her world view (as if we needed any more indicators).

Having to put up with Michelle is the one and only thing for which I have great pity for Obama. Of course, it’s vice versa as well. They are both floating on completely fabricated life stories which have been spun, amplified and extolled by the corporate press.

  2. Her speech was good, she looked nice, and then ruined the whole thing with the comment about sleeping in a house slaves built.
As for MrsC’s thankless work, it’s not clear if we should thank her for the rising of terrorism in the Middle East, for showing us that even “dead broke” people can become millionaires if they have a cushy government job, and for the resurrection of her smarmy, skirt-chasing husband.
It’s just too bad that the current POTUS, her hubby, couldn’t do what she expects MrsClinton to do if she is elected POTUS.

    1. The “she can’t make a speech without stressing victimhood” bets were down before she ever took the podium.

Speaking of which, FLOTUS, precisely which gangs were those poor kids having to avoid on the way to school?

And speaking of minorities, your trust of Hillary puts you in the bottom 33%.

      1. There were some Black slaves involved in the construction of the White House–mostly carpenters and masons, but there were also Irish, Poles, Italians, Franco Americans, British, and many other non-Blacks involved in the construction. Odd that Michelle didn’t mention any of these. /sarc.

She would have been well served to mention the free Black –Benjamin Banneker– (not all Blacks in that era were slaves), who designed Washington D.C. and who was one of the most accomplished men in the formation of this country. That would have been worth a footnote at least, wouldn’t you think? But that would have destroyed her thesis.

  3. Oh okay. That makes all the difference…not.
After your sneering, belittling and snubbing of America and Americans – I seem to recall you were never proud of America until your husband’s disturbing ascent to The White House, WTFC’s what you think. I just cannot wait until the day you are outta the People’s House.
And hopefully, as much as I dislike and distrust Donald Trump, he will humiliate HRH Hillary and her concubine Bubba, with a landslide win.

  4. She may have delivered the speech to the rave reviews of her D audience, but me, I didn’t believe a word she said. You honestly think she trusts Hillary? Or that her daughters faces were pressed up against the window of the SUV in fear of the bad men with big guns? Do you think for one moment she cares a hoot about Hillary? Nope, she’s out there desperately trying to protect her husbands failed legacy.

Tonight the convention is trotting out SEVEN mothers of boys killed by police. Yeh, there’s a message for ya. NOT.

I watched every speech, was not impressed by a one. And very sad Bernie caved.

    1. Tonight the convention is trotting out SEVEN mothers of boys killed by police. Yeh, there’s a message for ya. NOT.

This. This is who they are. So much for crisis and division. Mooch — speech — words just words. That someone else wrote. And no one means.

      1. Her speech was written 10000% to deflect from the disaster that is unfolding in the HRC camp. She knew if she tugged at people’s heartstrings, she’d get the media to talk about her all day. Look, over there, it’s a squirrel. Not falling for it.

      2. I’m pretty sure one of those is the mom of exiled-after-suspension Trayvon Martin who a) wouldn’t have been in Sanford if he’d behaved and b) wasn’t killed by a cop (but close enough for BLM’s claims, like “hands up don’t shoot”).

From what I heard, Michelle’s “slave” comment got the loudest applause of the night. Same thing seems to happen in many of Obama’s pandering speeches: claims of black victimhood get the biggest response. If you follow the trend, it seems like a contrived con in search of applause (and votes).

      3. Michael Brown’s mom is going to speak. Never mind that her husband said “burn the bitch(Ferguson) down” and she beat up Michael’s grandmother for selling t-shirts and stole $1400 from her. This is the face of the DNC. Sickening.

        1. RNC: Celebrate cops

DNC: Celebrate those who paid a price for disrespecting the law.

          RNC: American flags everywhere.
DNC: Palestinian and Russian flags. USA: Where?

          1. EDIT: Snopes dealt with the flag question. Both conventions apparently used digital images of flags, which makes sense since Hillary introduced Kaine in a room drenched with flags.

The DNC owes America an explanation of their “Law and Order” priorities, and why they choose to canonize people who disrespect the law.

  5. I find that I am in a much better mood lately because whenever I see a democrat on my TV screen I hit the mute button. I refuse to listen to the “poor me” speeches. And most of the dems, when they speak, sound so angry. I can understand getting angry once in a while but not all the time!

    1. You bring out a key difference in the campaigns of Hillary and rump. Hillary enjoys constantly reminding us of how awful we are as a people, as a country. Trump, the happy warrior, reminds us of how good we are, what we can do to become great, how to roll up our sleeves and fix the issues destroying us, how to make America reach it’s greatest potential.

  6. Everyone knows Michelle Obama loathes Hillary. Her pitch-perfect speech was created not to praise HRC, but to preserve and protect her husband’s legacy.

She did, however, manage to throw a catty little barb at Hillary:

“And look, there were plenty of moments when Hillary could have decided that this work was too hard, that the price of public service was too high…..

  7. Let me get this straight, the current First Entitlement Queen Michelle shambles onto the stage at the DNC communist convention, as usual wearing a very expensive dress (who paid for it by the way) and endorses a person who was “utterly careless with top secret material” (no intent though) that endangered the United States, sold favors to our enemies, spews out hatred calculated to inflame racial tensions, lies under oath, obstructs justice, destroys peoples lives, for president of our country and “rocked it”? The only rocking I saw was the stage heaving from side to side because it was buckling under the massive bulk of Queen Moochelle.

What on earth ever happened to recognizing right and wrong in our country?

  8. Michelle Obama is one of the most fortunate women in the world. Without one special quality, she slid up the greased pole and had 8 years in which to make national and international connections for her post-WH life. She also received a bunch of excellent plastic surgery and top-level style advice. Now she faces the rest of her life with wealth, connections, fame, and she can still wield the race victim card effectively.

  9. Which of this week’s speakers at this Democrat convention will note that Martin Luther King was a registered and committed Republican? Maybe someone will mention it tonight. Well, maybe not.

  10. I seemed to have become an old cynic. I
noticed she choked up when describing their life in the White House.
A touching moment – except Old Cynic said, “Maybe those acting lessons have been effective.”

    1. Not cynical at all. We’ve lived a long time and have seen a lot of political shenanigans over the years. It’s called wisdom.
